Anyone run 2000watts in a 4x8 HydroHut?

If so, how did you do it?? Obviously battling temps are going to be my biggest issue. Here is my plan.

Going to be doing a perpetual SOG on two 3x3 e&f tables setup 4 weeks apart. Probably going to get some Sun System SuperSun 2 ballasts and reflectors. Incase you haven't seen these reflectors they have huge 6" flanges on either side and give a straight shot through them for airflow, kind of like a cool cube but with good light distribution.

Anyways the hut will be in this huge closet I have in my house, or I might just build a separate chamber in the closet the same size as the HydroHut. So how can I vent something like this so that if the outside ambient temps are 75 or so then the lights on temp stay about 80 or below? Would a single 8" Vortex do it or am I looking something a lot crazier? I do have a 10,000BTU portable ac but was hoping to avoid having to use it? Anyways much thanks for any input you guys could give.

I ran 2x1000w in a 4x8 in the past. I had 6" air cooled hoods and a 6"HO canfan that kept temps in ~80 with an ambient temp of ~70. This was during the dead of summer utilizing my central AC unit. I positioned the HH so one of the vents was right over an AC register and it seemed to do the trick.

Good luck,

Thanks Taxi, did you have a dedicated I/O for the lights? Or was the 6" venting the inside of the HH as well?

I was also thinking about having just a dedicated input and output for the lights with the 8" 750cfm vortex pulling air. And running a CO2 system so I could get away with a hotter room, maybe 85 degrees or so? Any setting up my portable ac in the closet the HH will be in to keep ambient temp around 70. Will this be possible or are the bulbs so strong that Ill have to vent the lights AND the HH as well. Thanks.

been running 2000w in a 4x8 for a while now using an 8 inch scrubber and fan pushing through 8" a/c lights runs perfect year round w temps outside ranging from 55-75 F

Cool, this is giving me some hope. U guys run co2 in there? Need to know how long a 20# tank will last. Thanks fellas

Got two super sun 2's. I either run the 1k and a 600 or dual 1k's when it is winter. They have a dedicated run attached to a 8inch fan w/ silencer over the front end. Had to move to the 8inch b/c there is about 50 foot of duct run w/ 4 right angle turns. Also it splits through two rooms (flip-flop) one of which has a window a/c box put in the exhaust line for summertime--Even though i've sealed it inside and out--air is still passively sucked out thru the front vent.

Have an a/c as well--custom box--if you have a portable it's gonna pull fresh air thru there so i wouldn't bother with the CO2 unless it's really cold and you need additional heat production from a burner unit...

I have another CF and 6in fan combo pulling air into the room passively (HVAC vent in the room) and pushing it out to help heat the house. (winter). Summertime it runs in room only and the inhouse vent duct is sealed since the a/c is exchanging air. I usually don't activate my CO2, I just let it run on pilot light. If it is cold enough - I can run the CO2 up and temps stay at 80-82 @ 900ppm. about all ...

ps room 4x9x9 not a hydrohut-- 4x4 and 3x3--
