Hi All,

Anyone know whats going on with Seeds Comapnies out of Spain? Seems authorities are cracking down. Is it a war for genetics?

I was fortunate enough to get a few orders in over the years and have a good collection but I spoke directly with Ripper and they no longer ship seeds to Canada, only merch. Additionally, Humboldt Seeds Organization (not the humboldt out of Califronia with the Blueberry Muffin) and Dinafem seeds are all shut down in terms of doing business with Canada and USA.

Seems everything is quite hush hush. Maybe someone from the icmag community knows?

No sure what is happening, probably tightening of regs. Dunno? But I have seen this as well and it's not ltd to Spain

War on seeds is what it sounds like. This is where I fear legalization is going. Big pharma don’t like competition. I feel they are trying to end home growing by limiting seed availability. I know it would take years, but it’s the beginning of the end. They want you at the dispensary not in the grow room. It started with feminized seeds only, no males for breeding, now they go after the breeders and retailer’s.

I was on one of the larger UK seed sites recently and couldn't help but notice how many breeders strains say "out of stock", and I know it's been like that for awhile now.

It is not necessarily due to supply issues
Sometimes seeds are listed, but they are one off run from a breeder. Seedbank just hasn't been told about it, some of them won't be removed to keep the historical data...
Some sites don't invest in the maintenance of the IT side enough and there is no auto-hide function for the listing if seeds are out of stock.... Just a bit cluttered IMO, but upkeep of good IT is pricey....
