Paid way to much in the day, 40/80. Beat brick. Long lasting stone, decent high, good clean burn. Used to save the kief that rained down in the jar breaking a nug to smoke.

Thought it was northern lights for a bit, it's skunk #1 basic 5. Been so dry that missing beasters brings back memories. Not like other chem laden beasters other guys had. Those weren't even smokable!

M39, like socks with vapor like hash. Used to get a nice stone, mellow and happy. Maybe it was the cacti?

Oh well

Never tried m39 myself, but if you guys want some NL5 (=Basic 5) x Skunk1, MrNice was selling repro seeds of Nevil's old seed stock, so if those are still in the shops you might find something similar in those seeds

IIRC Shiva Skunk from Sensi is/was pretty close, only ended up lacking a slight amount of density in most cases. again, it has been awhile so IIRC.

M-39 seemed to lean a little closer to the Basic 5(nl5) side of the cross

Dam m39 …that’s a blast from the past

Seen it in an Arizona dispensary (Harvest) in 2015, tested at 6% thc. Yes that's how big of a joke things are in Az Mmj.

The m39 we used to get was organic, smelled like tea, tasted like... tea.. Most boring high. Youd smoke the shit all day and wish you had anything else. Sold a lot of it, once. To my surprise people forgot how bad it was and started asking about it again.

I'd rather smoke it than anything the dispos grow in AZ though. Damn.. So many levels to weed quality, most don't even know.. One man's trash...

As far as looks. Ours looked so much like water cured bud, and tasted so much like water cured bud, I'm guessing it was water cured. Maybe that's the only way they could sell it?

Low smell equals less paranoia smuggling from BC.

My guess there were a lot of different groups smuggling different batches and cuts. Ran into the same bud different places and no idea what all was out there. The good m39 should be a bit over 16%THC. Good clean flush, light green, mild hashish and socks flavor and taste. Appears to be northern lights dominant. Nice hard buds, minimal larf. Good crystals outside, popping trichs inside.

Quality commercial flowers. But hey, what's not commercialized that meets the grade and production requirments? She has a 45 day flower and yields well, so that and meets other smuggling requirements like low smell and dense.

Best BC bud I smoked was René. She wasn't anymore potent than m39 and less long lasting mut more heady not as stoney.

Only ever heard of the friesland and m39. Whish more classics stuck around. The creeper afghan looks bountiful.

Our beasters were keif'd and not dried/cured right. Smelled like hay. I preferred middies that came around that were decent, but with seeds. Wish I would've kept some of those. This was in VA in the early 2000s. There was dank around, but not many people grew in VA back then. A .5 zip is a felony there. I did get road kill skunk herb and some other fire indoor, during that time, but for a few years it was the crappy beasters unless you personally knew a grower.

I never had the herb grown well.

Never bought the kiefed, no cure, chem laden beasters but smoked them. As much as it's impossible to smoke those. Closest thing to fake weed. Why even go through the effort of growing such crap? With a proper flush and dry they could of been atleast enjoyable. Not even certain those were m39 and seemed more like rhino.

Basic 5 - how strain names have changed..

Nowadays it would be called creampie chocoberry fruitpot or suchlike.

The pic of the foot tall m39 plant looks exactly like some sensi shiva skunk I had around ten years ago. One of those phenos was insane yield speed and bag appeal-wise but I was a noob and didn’t know how to clone :-(
