Anyone from the Rainbow Family?

Anyone from the Rainbow Family? Just wondering, I got kinda of a bone to pick with the way some of your people drifted thru this town I lived in and horded the food banks and left it virtually bone dry leaving nothing for the locals. Just for future reference it kinda pissed allot of folks off.

Not sure, that just what everyone else called them and there was something in the paper that called them that.

ah ,so they are more like a religion.
Ummm - more like a free form association/club/lifestyle

They have some hellacious "family" gatherings, kinda like Deadheads meeting Burning Man fans. With a hint of Romany (gypsys).

Eric Cartman would call them "goddam dirty hippies".

They are rather benign folkies.

Rainbow Gatherings are magical events, if you have no hang-ups about "dirty hippies".....

First Gathering I went to was a New England regional in Vermont (2500 people).

As I was walking into the site (2.5km walk thru the forest) carrying this huge and very heavy bag, a nice lookin' hairy freak told me to "put down your bag, brother.."

So I did, and he promptly whipped out a little pipe stuffed with some super kind bud, lit it and stuck it in my face.

"You looked like you needed that, brother......welcome home."

Dat's all he said, and then he went along his merry way.

I held a joint rolling workshop at that gathering, and had about 1/2 lb of popcorn bud given to me for the occasion, by a total stranger.

That's Rainbow......where the only rules are no guns, no money and no alcohol.

I have none - I used to be one before the wife, kids, minivan and the 9 to 5 suit wearin' days. Now I look old and square, but my inner self wears a suede jacket with fringes. My kids insist on wearing their hair longer than average - I bust no balls over this choice.

Something about the 60's that never left me - even if I left it.

You should git yourself to a Gathering then......try the New England regionals, they are great...more mellow than the Nationals.
