Anyone ever had an Ant Infestation?

We're talking serious infestation. I found major highways of ants going into the hydroton in my buckets and coming out with little pieces of white in their mouths, which I would assume to be root mass. These are the little tiny ants I am talking about. I will try to get some photos.

I think it took me a few days before I noticed it. There were literally thousands of ants crawling inside the buckets.

I declared war on them yesterday, and as soon as the lights go on today I will see the current status. I used 2 bottles of Terro in and around the room. I am pretty sure these ants will have no chance at all within 24 hours.

I just haven't heard of this happening before...

The little white pieces are probably ant larvae. They're not just in there, they've set up a maternity ward.

Terro works best with two, sometimes three applications. When the queen is killed, the remaining ants will scram, crown another female and be back for more trouble down the road.

I actually had an ant problem a few years back. It was my last grow at my old house and I first noticed them after I started using molasses. After that grow I bought a new house and fortunately haven't had that problem since. I figure they must've been in my old house and were attracted to the molasses.

hope that Terro works out for you man

Just happened to me to. Used a bunch of the terro liquid traps with in 2 days they were diminished, today 5 days later nothing but corpses!!!!!!!!!!!

i have not had that problem with my plants but just around my place i have had ant problems i take a spray bottle of water drop a cigarette into it let sit for about 2 hours and spray them the nicotine kills them quick as hell and will not harm the plants

I had a bad infestation on one of my girls and I really wasn't aware of how bad it was until i went to transplant.. there were lots of ants crawling around but i figured they werent hurting anything. when i pulled her out of the pot she had larvae all over her roots, moved her into the ground, gave her a watering with some nutes and she did well.. im sure it wasn't good for her but she was always quite happy and healthy. I guess the warmth and moisture made it prime breeding grounds.
