Sure, plenty of people do this, it's called growing organically in soil. But you have to use good soil with plenty of food in it already, otherwise you won't be able to just add water.

I did, but will never do it again! Yield sucks with water only, no matter how good was my soil, I couldn't get a gpw with this technique.

Yep. I add ewc to ffof in veg and then in flower add Rainbow bloom mix to the soil when I up pot. Also use some perlite.

I can not imagine having to measure stuff into the water all the time. Too much work for me.

When giving plants only water, please adjust the ph of your water, that is all.

Grower who ran this warehouse before me gave his plants unfiltered, unadjusted tap water from first transplant till harvest, then blamed all his poor yields, herms, and other problems on genetics, whata putz.

Pretty similar here using Epsoma bio tone flower...( in the bottom of the air pots) throw in a little fish if they look like they are suffering from low N+ ( not always.. just strain dependent).. Add a little alfalfa meal and , neptunes harvest crab mix, and some myco. during the recycle period and wa la... water only

Might try similar mix with rainbow someday but epsoma is doing the job at this time

But the starting ph of your water would be...? Because i'm certainly not adjusting water that comes out of the tap at 6.3 either.

U don't have to adjust ph in a low ppm water. Tap water have a low ppm so that will work fine in a organic soil using dolomite.

Your tap water maybe. Taps waters vary greatly from town to town. Any blanket statement about "tap water" is suspect. -granger

Exactly, as an example, the RO at my current site puts out ppms in the mid 00s at 7.5 ph, at my previous job it was in the high 00s at 8.5 ph, and at my home grow the charcoal filter puts out water just under 100ppm with 6.2 ph, as you can imagine, I don't adjust that water when i'm using it to flush ;)

All these are in the same metro area, but different municipalities, so just a few miles can make a big difference.

Hello all,

This last season outdoors I used LC's mix with B1's #1 recipe and have used only water and teas made from the ewc and chicken shit (Sup'rGreen) bubbled in a buclet.

Not a single nutrient issue last year with excellent yields.

Your milage my vary.

Water only growing is the best, imo. (RO water user)
When done right.... its cheaper, tastes MUCH better, and yields just as much if not more than growing with soil and bottled nutes.

If you've had less than stellar results doin it this way, then you probably just had the wrong soil mix...and maybe you should just try again.

I did fox farms bottled nutes for a couple years. Then FloraNova for a couple years. Then GH for a couple years. Liked em all.....then a few growers here suggested I try a new method. Thanks to Phillthy and Dank.Frank, my 1st water only grow turned out to be my best tasting, highest yielding grow yet.

Another plus to water only growing......It saves so much time not having to mix nutes, check meters, adjust the PH, check the meters again, add the right additive for that week, blah blah blah. Now I can give that time to my precious hoes
