Anybody ever grow in a trailer.

Ok all; I thought I was done. Turned everything on for a test run and I need help. I have a 4'X4' box 7 1/2 ' high. ( 6 1/2 usable). I have a 6" vortex exhausting my cab thru my cieling and cool tube (mounted vertically with a 3' parabolic dome above) I have another 6" home depot inline fan on my inlet side and a 16" oscillating (sp) hung above to move the future canopy. My problem is dust, temps and lack of humidity. I'm thinking I should cut a hole in my floor and use that as my inlet, that should take care of the dust and higher temps, but create another problem because I dont think plants would do to well with freezing winter air hitting them. (can they get to purple...lol)

Question 1. How would I heat the incoming air in the winter ?

Question 2. How can I use a humidifer to tap into my inlet manifold to raise
my moisture.

The only thing I can think of for heating the incoming air would be to put 2 or 3 light bulbs lined up inside my manifold ( following me ) and turn on one by one till I get the desired temp. Cold air would have to pass by the bulbs there by heating the air....theres gota be a better way then this....just cant think of one.

For the humidity ( sahara as of now) is it as simple as connecting the humidifier to the inlet side by mean of another T type manifold connection.

Yea you should be able to tell that this is my first real attempt at an indoor grow. Iv'e invested plenty ( you all know what this stuff costs ). I just need to work through these last little tweaks and I believe I'll have an enviornment that would be very condusive to my needs.

Many of you have helped plenty already and I appreciate ya all here at IC. I hope someone could steer me in the right direction one more time..peace out

for question 1, y not just take the cooltube OFF, your bulb should heat the air, if it gets too hot just open up more inlet holes.

did u think about using both fans on the exhaust and having passive intakes?
what about the vertical light setup (im assuming if your cooltube is vercal so is your light)? just my opinion, but i think i higher percentage of your lumens would make it down to the plant effectively if the bulb was horizontal (parallel to the ground)

no real clue with the humidity

i thought u were talking about filling up an entire trailer with a grow at first. and yes, many people do that.

Thanks irishSoC0.....Dude who runs a club in devner setup the cool tube with dome above it, said it was the way to go. I should have stated previously that another MAIN reason I need to go through the floor is because it's not just a grow box in a grow room, it's a grow box in my party/hangout room. Nothing I can do about that now, It's only a 3 bed room single wide and all rooms are taken. My son went off to college ( 40 miles away ) so his room got jacked (love ya chris, welcome to the fold out couch) So it's imperative that my inlet air not be in the same room. Doing this would really benifit my plants. 1 blueberry 1 unknown. But that throws me another quirk; It gets real cold some days and nights especially under the trailer, I have to heat the air someway some of the time, cant have -5 deg air flying in. I suppose if I keep the 6" inlet line alot longer that needed (run up and down the wall ) it would heat the air some before entering cab, then put a throttle valve/ baffle thing to slow down the rush.

So taking off my cool tube might help when it's cold out, however the weather here is crazy, you could have 65 deg on xmas and a 3' blizzard in may. So I would be taking the tube on and off way to much. I appreciate you taking the time irish. I see where the thread title may have misled some. Kinda like saying "hey look at the boob's on this girl" and all you gets a poodle feeding her pups lol. Guess this isn't an issue for most.

Muggs, there are easier ways of getting that heat back in the cab than taking off the cool tube. You probably have some sort of ducting taking the air from the cooltube outside, right? Just put a "Y" in the duct with one end going outside and the other end going back in the grow cab. In hot weather, block the duct going back into the cab and send the hot air outside. In cold weather, block the outside duct and let the hot air back into the cab. If you want to get really clever, you could rig up a valve that would let you direct as much or as little hot air into the cab so that you can manage the temperature during whatever conditions may prevail.

Remember, your cooltube is doing more than just keeping your overall growcab temperature down. It also lets you get your light closer to your plants without burning them. I'd leave the cooltube on at all times if it were me. Just route the hot air where you want it instead.

One way you could get around bringing in cold air from outside would be to enrich with CO2. If the plants are getting plenty of CO2, then you don't need to vent much. They also grow like crazy. ;-)

Sorry Joe, got in late. RE-read or post and is it ok to exhaust back into same room. Heard it said it wasent a good idea. Have u had any good results like this. As for CO2, out of my budget right now... Sorry didn't think I needed any pic's, I understand your reasoning though and that would save some drilling and $$... Thanks much for your time and input.
