If so, how is business? It has exploded on my end. I am playing 3 - 5 times a week in the middle of winter!!
Most of my work lately has been on percussion. I had been playing guitar, lead and/or rhythm depending on band or duo/trio. I haven't had to sing much all winter either and that makes me happy as the artificial heat in the winter kills my voice.
I have been busting my ass for the last couple of years and it has been really paying off - I am turning down work left and right. I used to tour and play all over but now I play mostly within an hour of my house and most closer and make just as much money and spend way less. I feel successful in that sense - I am making a living. I don't want to be on the road anymore due to my health.
I broke my back about a decade ago and they told me I would never play again due to the complications and the Fibromyalgia that came with it. I believed them for the longest time.
I was a chef too before I got hurt. I now work for a friend whenever I want. I write their menus and do their soups and don't have to do any line work- I just gotta get the work done before a certain time or the next day. I will go in and do some prep too as I just love the environment. I started in the industry 24 years ago and it seems to be in my blood.
I guess my point is - keep at your dreams. Don't let people, including doctors, tell you what you are capable of. And, if medical use of marijuana has helped you overcome health issues tell everyone who will listen.
Keep your karma clean.
