Looking to see if anyone has a trick way of hanging a 150 pound carbon filter and fan from the ceiling with some kind of rubber isolators that way no harmonics or vibrations get transfered threw the studs.....:)

 hi ,ithink you answered your own question , ive done it afew times ,strong bolts, not shit, plenty of thick rubber items of cars ,do the job bolt ,rubber maybe another steel plate and thick rubber on nut side .play around with it. at one stage i could hear my dehumidifier ,at night when things are quite, humming away from outside . made 3 sided box , with rubber matting, bottom and sides ,problem solved .same with fans, i cant hear em anymore .bloody good job.

I put all my fans inside a sealed box lined with foam and egg cartons.

If you don't mind me asking, what size filter weighs 150 lbs?

I use an Organic Air carbon filter [12"]. This thing looks like a huge K&N automotive air filter, weighs 20 lbs, is re-useable, rated at 4000cfm, and costs approx $200.00.

When I researched carbon filters, the standard ones seemed to be overly restrictive, non reuseable, and expensive.

Hope this helps. bg

+3 on bungees & eye hooks. I'll also add don't cheap out on the bungees, use a couple more than you think you need, and check them regularly for wear.
