Any muscle car owners?

There is nothing like some old fashioned American muscle!!! I have a 1969 Camaro, fully restored. I bought it for about 40k a few years ago, and it has increased in value pretty substantially for a car. Just wondering if there are any fellow gear-heads out there.

Unfortunately my camaro is not a classic. 1998. Falling apart like a pair of cheap undies. Still 5.7l V8, six speed automatic.

If your 98 Camaro is an auto, it's a 4spd (4L60e)....if it's a stickshift it has a 6spd gearbox, the T56.

I had a 1997 Z28, not stock. Was a fun car, very quick. Easy 11's in the 1/4.

You dropped 40k on a 1969? Ouch man. I could get a decent daily driver in SoFla for under 10k.

I'm a gear head, but I have no old school American muscle yet. When school's done I'll reward my hard work with something nice.

Let's see some pics,

Yeah it is a Z28 convertible stock. It's performance ain't what it used to be after it was shipped to england. Engine had to be retuned and the petrol octane over here sucks nutsacks.

Roof leaks like a sieve too.

Yeah they are four. Was just a bit discombobulated. Was remembering when it was bought and the guy was talking bout them both. But it was the soft top that was more desirable and at the time the guy said they did not do the manual as a soft top. He probably was spinning me one..who knows i am just a dumb Brit.

My girlfriend rented one for me for my birthday weekend, and it was great! The feeling is totally different than driving an old Hemi (I drove my Uncle's a few times). They are really comfortable, great cruisers, or 1/4 milers, but a little bulky for my tastes. The new Dodge Challenger looks like it will be more muscle, less frills, exactly what a new muscle car should be.

I had a '71 Cuda convertible up until '83 when I gave it to my nephew for the $1650.00 (a VERY sweet deal at the time) he had to buy a car. It needed body work but was otherwise original....... value now? oh bout $75,000/90,000... when Gerry shows it on the show car circuit & I get to drive it from time to time at those shows I attend.

I have a 84' Mustang 5.0. It's a retired CHP car and boy is it fun to drive. It was pretty funny when Eric Castrada (of CHIPS) came into my work, i tried to sell him my car after I saw him looking at it in the parking lot. Turns out the guy doesn't know how to drive stick.

Man....not an owner....yet!
But I did get back from a car show in spokane that had some sweet rides. I uploaded some so we can at least have some pics to drool over in this thread.
I highly suggest zooming in on these beauties.
Before I die....I will own one of these cars...

AWESOME PICS! Especially love the chevelle and camaro! I'd post pics of mine, but i'm pretty paranoid, if you haven't noticed, about that type of thing. My car stands out pretty good. I have a 454 BB, with a edlebrock manifold, holley street avenger carb, K&N Filter sitting on top. It has a mild cam with hooker super comp headers. Everything on the car has been restored from the exterior to the interior. I could most likely get 60k+ for my car right now, and I paid it off last year :) YEAAAAAA

Im going to soon. im planning on swapping out the 13b rotary motor in my Mazda RX-7 and dropping in a Chevy LS1 and a T56 transmission. Should be quite the project, but im looking forward to it. Not to mention the jump from 180 horses to about 350

EDIT: and im gonna keep the 13b and build it on a DUNEBUGGY :jump: :jump: :jump:

also considering that conversion when i get some cash (the ls1 into the fd3s)

i know the fc3s conversion is a little easier and straighforward, as well as probably a slightly lighter car. However, my buddy already did that one, and i gotta be fairly original :rasta:

plenty of people seem to be doin it lately, just for all the power, and if you set it back nice and far against the firewall you can keep pretty good weight distribution. Not to mention, it won't blow up on you as quick as a 13B twin turbo, Hopefully i can wait and just buy the car (don't care if the engine and tranny are blown out), a nice LS1 with tranny, and a nice small to mid sized turbo kit all at once and then just have a killer street car.
