you'll find out that most of them end up hermie.... i however grew out a 6 or so beans and got half female one hermie'd the other two stay'd female... hopefully you get some good ladies...
grown out 1 of these durban/skunks and it was female. it had an intense, astringent, chemical-like smell and taste... like a lemon/hazy kinda taste. heavy cerebral stone...
the only problem i've experienced with these freebies are low germ rates...
Of all the grows I have done, my friends have all said they liked the DPxSK#1 the best!
I have just a bit of kief and I'm just dying to smoke it (man, I need to get an Ice-o-Lator or some Bubble Bags...).
If you have this strain, my advice to you:
Grow it.
You will not be disappointed!
A word of caution though: germination is a bit slow, so be patient. Mine took 3 days to germinate, which is about 2 days longer than any other seeds I have ever germinated. So be patient, and give them a week to germinate.
Its a lovely strain, some do hermie, grown it 5 times, and had one or more hermies every time. A fair bit of variation, there is a pheno that is fruity and very frosty, a keeper for sure. Other phenos are good, but that keeper stands out above all others by far.
I also had one that tasted and smelled just like Black pepper..Very spicy, very nice!
I've also just finished up Sam's Original Haze X Skunk#1(absolutely awesome!) also his Thai Haze X Skunk#1(excellent specimens, some just OK)
and the Skunk#1(many just average at best with some outstanding individuals)..
Seems like this is the way it is when growing sativas although I had a much better % of fine plants compared to many sativa varieties..
Sam certainly knows his shit, just wish he would stop in and chat more often..
Take care all....................................................CC
No nanners on the 3 out of 5 that were girls from the pack my buddy didn't excercise any patience during the germ and I hadn't heard about the germ rate troubles before he threw out the other 5 beans that dint crack within like 5 days.
5 days is usually plenty for most beans for me anyway but i think being old stock we could have coerced some of the other seeds into cracking. It only took 48 hours for 5 Strawberry Diesel and the same for 6 Caribe both varieties had 3 cracked within 24 hours.
Damn I've had a pack of these in my fridge for about 4 months, I'm going to try em out right now see if they'll germinate. Sounds like some good reviews. When I got them I couldn't find any good info on them except the germ rates were low so I never tried them.
Here we go........
