Any info on Myakka gold?

Anyone know the lineage of Myakka gold? Perhaps some gold strain that was just renamed for the locality at the time?
Thanks in advance.

Mkost likely a landrace or a cross of landraces that were common in the area at that time. Colombian, Mexican, Panamanian, Jamaican and even Thai. Whatever it was it had to be a heat and humidity tolerant strain. The guy that grew it, Donnie Clark, probably wasn't even sure what it was or where it came from. He may have (most likely) planted seeds from more than one source and there may have been more than one strain bearing that name. Gainesville Green is another famous Florida strain that nobody is really sure 100% what its parentage is or how many different strains, hybrids or phenos of it there were.
You could try to find Donnie through his publidher and ask or read the book called "The Donnie Clark, Myakka Gold", it may say in there.
A little known fact is that some of it was grown on the Myakka river and other waterways by making floating sod rafts. The ultimate outdoor hydroponic set up :)
