Any idea what strain this is?

Hey everybody, I got this plant out of a batch of "sour diesel" (I called it cali sour because it smells like sour but doesn't remind me enough of what I used to get, which I think was the real sour diesel) and out of all the ounces I found two buds with 10 or so seeds, popped a couple, and here's one of them. She has a sour taste thats kinda earthy/creamy and is pretty potent. I usually run her about 10 weeks (starts showing amber trichs on the leaves around then). Does this plant resemble anything anyone has grown here? I'd love to get an actual idea of what this could be! Here's a few photos

I just looked at some ogchem photos and I don't really see any with the same weird peach colored hairs, do you have any photos of it (or have you seen a thread with the pheno you had? Also, would you describe the flavor of it? Did you ever see it produce many 3 finger leaves before flowering?

Thanks mrbungle! It does look like it has a similar structure to the sour cream - especially with the funny looking droopy sugar leaves and a lot of the taste descriptions seem to be similar. Did you see the hairs with the same odd peachy color?

The peachy hairs is what made me think of Sour cream.... I think that is a trait of G13 cause I also saw it in my G13 haze

What do you mean by 'peachy hairs' specifically if you don't mind me asking?
I just finished some DNA Confidential Cheese and saw for my first time some crazy ass trichomes towards the end.......it made me wonder if you were seeing the same thing.
Although MrB saw it in the G-13, so it may end up being a just a good trait of flowers.....not sure but definitely interested....I ain't no scientist.....just a smart ass

BTW I would love to have flowers that looked like that with that flavor profile

Mr Bungle - I mean if your sour cream had peachy hairs like this, and the g13xhaze had hairs like this, and the g13xhaze is part of of sour cream - sounds like the mystery has been solved! I have a second plant from this bunch of seeds that looks like a freak with long, round one finger leaves that develops into 3 finger leaves later, and when I recently cloned some ecsdxsssdh, I had a plant exhibiting the similar long, round one finger - must be a characteristic of sour diesel haze types as I have yet to see another plant do this. Thanks for helping me out!

meowmeowmeow - The peachy hairs I'm talking about are pistils (the small hairs that protrude from the calyxes (or each little bud)). Strains can have a wide range of colors for the pistils, but having a certain color hair could indicate the lineage of the plant if you know other plants with the same characteristics. So to contrast peachy hairs, look at this afghan kush



those hair are way more bright orange, where as my newly identified sour cream has hairs that are far lighter in color. I'm glad you saw some crazy trichomes towards the end of your Confidential Cheese, that is something we all look forward to and I bet the Con Cheese made for some nice smoke! As much as traits can tell us, sometimes they can be deceiving. I remember one time I bought some sour diesel and it looked like someone grew it under one cfl in a shoebox, the buds were so airy and small, easily some of the worst looking herb I had bought, but holy shit was it amazing smoke, an incredible sweet sour that lingered. Taught me to never judge a bud just by its looks. Also, Thanks for the kind words about this bud! Funny to think of all the bills I spent on seeds, this free batch is easily some of the best I have grown yet!

My confidential cheese finished with similar characteristics was my point.......no worries.
I'm a weed nerd, so I know what pistils are.
They looked like cheetos with the orange trichs.
It seems to be a common 'cheese' strain trait.

I grew Confidential Cheese too actually..lol That was one of my all time favs.. was a beautiful plant.... rock hard nugs.... but I dont remember peach colored hairs on my pheno of CC.... I wish I still had pics of all 3 to show... but I don't

Waxytaxi- wow that looks exactly the same as what's in my jar! Damn, I thought MrBungle closed the case but it's back open! Just searched sfv og and damn, it does look like my plant could be heavy leaning on the sfv og side of that cross. I have another plant from the same batch of seeds that generally throws three finger leaves and a more airy bud structure with the same color hairs, maybe a little darker but still peachy, when dried it smells like rubber/chemical/almost unpleasant pungent/almost sour smells and similar taste, maybe a lil more chem/sour in the taste - did you ever see a pheno like that out of your og chem?

MrBungle- I still think sour cream looks the most similar to these plants from what I've seen in my searches. I just described a sister plant in my comment to Waxytaxi, have you ever seen a plant like that when growing out sour cream? And what was your Confidential Cheese like? I might need to look into this strain!

PoweredbyHaters- Yeah, I hear that, but given that it came from a bag of some "sour diesel" that had some sour twang, though not exactly what I recall from what I consider the real SD, and that these seeds have some sour/maybe chemdawgish taste, and not one, but two people have shown me shit that looks like it could have come from my plant, and they share a similar genetic heritage to what I'm tasting. Sounds like I can basically say its a chem cross and I'm not far off, so to me that's far better than calling it something random and infinitely better than saying it's sour diesel, so to me that's a win.

MJPassion- I feel like I won the lottery! I wasn't growing or anything when I bought the ounce, just wanted something nice and tasty to smoke on, and out of all the ounces I've had of sour (or other fire nug for that matter), I never found seeds, but this ounce had two gram sized buds with about 8 seeds in each. At the time I didn't have any plans to grow, but I knew this was a really rare occurrence with anything really fire, these seeds had to be intentional, so I put them in a box and they waited. Pretty hyped that I only popped two and both are still with me! Might need to pop a few more!

Unfortunately I only had a single seed of Sour Cream, it was a freebie in a promotion from attitude... Confidential Cheese was the same and so was G13xhaze... all of these plants were in my last garden going back about 5 years now... I lost them due to noob errors... I miss the CC most... it was a short compact plant that was easy to grow, nugs were rock hard, covered in trichs, smell and taste was like a bubblegum skunk funk.. definitely a couch lock buzz.. I think I had the la confidential pheno of the CC

Sweeter like the LACon, but looks like cheese.
Smell......got in trouble for gifting in public....so....
Best organic attempt I've ever had and said to be on par with CO growers bud an acquaintance was lucky enough to enjoy.
1st and last run of this strain from clone, but it was DNA worthy.

PoweredbyHaters - Hell yeah thanks for posting up some g13 pics! When I say peach hairs I'm thinking of the middle ground between pink, orange, and red, and I'm def seeing some in that g13. Looks real good man! How does it smoke?

meowmeowmeow- you and mrbungle have got my thinking about finding some confidential cheese seeds, I'll be looking around! As for what I have here, I think I'm gonna meet up with a friend who has a more experienced smoking palette and see if they have any inclination as to what this resembles, so we'll see what they say!

Yea man! I hopped on some really nice promos from attitude a while back.... Since I lost those I've planted at least 20 different strains from seed and kept 4 along with the 1 I started with from clone (SSH)... and may have recently added 2 more... but its too early to tell.. haven't tested the product yet

I fairly positive you will like the CC... from my research and experience... there is a cheese leaning pheno and an LA con pheno.. the LA con being the more desirable of the 2

Mr B's correct with what I've come across with the CC strain.
I like the cheese leaner better though.
Both phenos leave an nice terpy oily cheesy film on the lips.
It might sound crazy, but I'm tired of growing DNA shit, but it's all been fire.
All the LA Con hybrids I've been fortunate to grow.

Looks pretty similar to a Sour D x Hindu Kush cut I grew once, called "Sour Buddha". I was dumb and didn't keep the cut, tried another pheno of Sour D x Hindu Kush later but it wasn't as sour/chemmy as the Sour Buddha was so I culled it.
