Hello fellow ICMAGERS,
my quest to find the yummy bubba kush has been a nightmare.
I tried 20 seeds of heavenly hashplant from Bodhi...nothing bubba in there I can guarantee ya
I tried 20 seeds of madness from hazeman seeds...OMG that was no where near a kush strain at all
Anyone care to chime in?
thx

Having recently grown out his Bubba S1 smelling like mocha and tasting like Tootsie rolls, I can vouch for it. Here's a lower:

He also has a "Bubba Regs" up on eBay, with the following description:

Bubba Kush – regular seeds – This is my pre-98 bubba cut crossed with males from a Katsu Bubba x Bubba kush line that was made back in the day. Both Katsu bubba and pre-98 bubba phenos present. 8-9 weeks
He has good stuff.

Peace

Ok looking at the picture from VerdantGreens bubba kush regular seeds its looks like a sativa. As far as I know, bubba has no sativa in it

Plus I try to stay away from breeders who breed with feminised seeds. been that route and will never go back. thanks for your input though

I hold a cut of the P98 Bubba Kush and I have also grown out 2 packs of Verdant Green's P98 bubba S1.
In those S1 seeds I found 2 plants near identical to the clone only and have passed those on to friends

I didn't find anything even remotely resembling a "sativa" , in fact I was very pleased with the Verdant Green's seeds.
My thinking is that anyone knocking them has never grown them and is just running thier mouth

I don't know about VG though. Only because when you read things like his description of LV Purple Kush X Pre98 Bubba. Sounds like the genetic is getting tired of being selfed. I have played around enough with feminised seeds to know not to touch em again. Too sensitive to turning into a hermie. I just want a nice cross of the original bubba kush female clone (if it still exists) and a nice male to give my bubba a nice structure.

It's your choice if you want to hold prejudice against me for making feminised seeds!

The Bubba S1s are tried and tested for about 10 years and do mostly come out like the pre98 bubba cut. yes they can be a little slow just like the clone.
The regular bubba has good reports but not as well documented as the S1s - mainly because the S1s are so reliable and well viewed. There is the occasional more 'sativa' looking S1 been found... many don't regard the bubba as a completely pure indica. the pic of the 'sativa' looking one was the only female from the F2 bubba seeds i used to find the male. all the male plants were much more bubba/indica looking.

You mentioned the PK x bubba cross, the 'weirdness' there has nothing to do with selfed pre-98 bubba, i have made a few fem crosses with reversed pre-98 pollen and they have come out very well. the strange occurence of 'males' in the bubba x pk is imo down to the pk being closely related to the katsu bubba cut - which has shown a similar trait in the peyote purple - ie. 'males' in a feminised seedline. This is why most use the pre-98 cut for breeding rather than the katsu.

i hope you find what you are looking for... FWIW i have found more intersex traits in regular seeds than in feminised seeds... it depends on the stability and quality of the parent just like all other seeds.

Thanks for chimming in VG. It's not a prejudice that I hold against you. It's just that from my 20 years of growing experience, my many grows of feminised seeds (even from reputable breeders) have let me down. pistils turning brown drastically starting from the 4th week of flowering, bananas, small buds. And my quest to finding the same blue dream as the original clone from 4 different seed banks has let me down too. Nothing came close to the original. I go from experience and I am a very honest guy so I am not trying to bash your work either. It's your life and you do what makes you happy.

Just get some og kush and northern lights plants and make your own bubba kush.

It's what I would do, if VG/katsu hadn't done the heavy lifting for us.

I read somewhere where they said that bubba kush is a mix of the original bubblegum with a kush. I've smoked bubblegum and northern lights and I gotta say that I honestly think that its more likely to be the bubblegum but I could be wrong. Maybe its got nothing to do with those 2 strains. A chef never reveals his secret recipe and we live in a world of greed so I'll leave it at that.
Katsus bubba crosses are all feminised seeds but thanks anyways Tynehead Tom. Wish I had access to that death bubba cut

hey there, yes we all get to choose how we go about growing and breeding ! Everyone would love a bubba male but nowadays there are just two or so cuts. My work with bubba was really me just trying to get my favorite cut in seed form... so i selfed the cut which has been widely recieved as a good seed representation of pure bubba with the same terpene profile (that is always somewhat diluted in crosses). The regular line came about after a trade with a very oldschool guy who has shared some interesting stuff with the community over the years, and the results are promising but need more documentation.
