americans can claim hip-hop, brits can claim dnb
pretty much biftaman. fortunately my musical tastes dont restrict me to the country i reside in. when i was in jr high i was listening to the shaman, front 242, and the 140 plus records. i like the roots and dancehall too. hip hop is dead 
the last ten years of hiphop releases has proven to be garbage, imo.
i dont care to hear what you got on your wrist and what size wheels you have on your benz. ya know. wheres the music?
there are a few exceptions though. i got to have devin the dude in my rotation at all times. i just laugh my arse off every song.
if you ever liked any kind of hip hop, you cannot go without hearing the dude.

DnB: drum n bass. a fast and very seductive rhythm with heavy basslines and sampling.

i forgot about goldie, good one.
i wish america had more junglists, its rare to hear the club beats in the clubs anymore, unless youre in miami. everywhere else has been reduced to top 40 bs. where im at anyway. i did meet dieselboy in a theatre gig here. and the state palace theatre is still spinning good tunes(i think, if katrina didnt destroy it, havent been to the N.O. since)

imagine a reggae tune-where the drums are running at double speed and the bassline isn't. Done with techno type production. It started there..........
