I find it hard to beat listening to a deftones album and gettng high by myself.
My friends like metal, but I got bored of that genre in a hurry.
"Around the fur" and "White pony" are amazing while high. And their self-titled album from 2003 has some outstanding tracks that don't come into their full element until you've got your buzz on. Chino Moreno's lyrics are forever stuck in my head, and the intensity that he brings to his stage performance is amazing!
I hope they tour for a long time to come, theyve also got a new cd coming out on halloween. It's been along time since they released something, I know they can make a big comeback!
I heard their best song(in my opinion)while I was getting high at a friends house during lunch hour. It wasn't actually an hour break either my *high-school* was on a nazi regimen and we were allowed 1/2 lunch breaks. "Dai The Flu" was the name of the song, and I felt like I'd heard it before. Everytime I hear that song I get the shiver's and it reminds me of a time in my life when things were simplified.
Just that one day when instead of sitting through an afterrnoon of academic's my friend and I were having a blast smoking some hash, raiding his fridge, and listening to deftones. Eventually we decided we were gonna get baked and forget about school for the rest of the day. (Excellent choice I might add!)
It's a downright shame he moved away after that semester was done. He had so many things in common with me than any other friend I'd had before.
If I had ticket's for all my friends to go see the deftones live with me, I think I'd only take him cause he appreciated the sound as much as me. Then I'd scalp the ticket's at half-price to some fans who werent lucky enough to buy before it sold out.
CHYEAH!
