Ants in my plants

I planted in the dark. How was I to know there was an anthill three feet away. There were a few ants on the plant tonight, but it has only been there one day. Are the critters likely to do any harm?
Thank you.

No. Ants don't harm plants. They even protect them from some critters sometimes. Some plants even evolved to have symbiotic relationships with ants for pest control.

Comfortably numb!
^^ that there ^^
Back in the day I was doing Bonsai, every summer I took my tropicals out, that seen was common. Mine were white. I quit the practice, as for the few months here where we had decent weather, did not profit my trees. AAMOF, the benefit (of placing outdoors) was negligible and most of the time was spent dealing with the after math. It took them a good portion of the following year recovering. I did it 2 years running. The 3rd summer they stayed inside and benefited from that decision. Yes indoors was slower, but the gains were definitely evident in comparison.

Pay attention to aphids, given its only been a couple of days those ants might not be connected to aphids. But any time you see ants on a plant they might be “farming” aphids. This doesn’t mean they will eradicate them! They actually herd them! Like we do with cattle or pigs etc. Sick shit.
