Anti-siphon devices...

I'm setting up a run to waste drip system for coco and in one of the setups the reservoir will have to be higher than the drip system.

I see that there's "anti-siphon" valves at the hydro store and online but would these work for keeping the reservoir from draining into the table? Or what could work while keeping this simple?

Here's a link for the valves I spoke of above:

The setup is like this: Pump > 3/4 inch tubing > 3/4" barbed to 1/2" male pipe thread > 1/2" female pipe thread > small cut of 1/2" pvc > 1/2" pvc 'T' > 1/2" pvc frame for the drippers

Any advice, info, and or links would be very helpful and appreciated... Peace.

Those are called check valves. I used to use them on my aquarium. Worked fine, except they would occasionally get gummed up and stick, so they needed regular maintenance. That probably wouldn't be a problem with hydroponics.

A simpler solution is to make a hole in your tubing just below the water line. If the water drops below the level of the hole (because it is draining the wrong direction) then air gets sucked in and breaks the syphon. Just make sure the hole is big enough to suck in enough air to break the syphon. It's simple and never fails, as long as the hole is not clogged.

Dude, that second part was genius. I would have never even thought of doing something so simple. Thanks a lot man, you just made this a hell of a lot easier.
