anti-cctv tactics

maybe a brit can help me out as they've been dealing with these for years.

sometimes i have to do business (like buy supplies or visit a safe addy) in places with surveilance cameras, like strip malls. although i try to avoid them when i know about them. but i have to assume that there are other cameras that i do not know about or see.

obvious visibile paranoia and nervousness can be deadly, but what are some other subtle tactics that i can use so that they canot identify me?

i already wear baseball caps without logos and generic hoodies if the weather permits and i do not look up or far away to hide my face. if i use a vehicle i park it somewhere without visible surveilance, but i can always use more help.

nope. i have never been arrested or even investigated, afaik. and i have been doing shady things for decades.

i live below the radar and intend to continue that way.

i am always looking for countersurveillance information or any information that will let me do what i want to do safer. i just thought someone here might know more than i do and be willing to share.

idea, (like your name btw),
I second your questions. Good initial advice too.

Surely some readers are already thinking "paranoia".

But I too aspire to live below the radar, and have since I was a child.
I have no credit card accounts, never once payed taxes. Never been arrested or even had a legitamate job that paid with checks, and not cash.
I got rid of any personal transportation that has records kept, such as cars and motor cycels. I hope within 5 years my abstract will be clean and the DMV will have me off thier immediate system. I will stick to public transportation, or pay family members good cash to drive me places.
All financial assests are to be left with your most trusted family members only...

Everything I have done has kept me below the average person in terms of "being in the system".

Blending in is always a good thing.

All advice can be helpful.

Having security cameras around you, isn't such a bad thing. If you feel for some reason you are being observed, then so what?, everyone else is at same time. If you ARE being watched, then the game is already up.

In my town in britain, we had x amount spent on cameras, (something like 3/4 million £ ) within 12 months none of them worked as they couldn't afford the up keep/maintainance costs.

But, people coming to our town felt secure as, althought they now don't work,it didn't become generally known by the public for a few years, and most where happy to see cameras. (A bit of reverse phsycology if you like), i imagine half round the country don't work.

Then you get the dummy cameras.

Stay cool and get on wth your life, here in britan they say wer'e on telly on average, 300 times a day.

I also do many things i shouldn't, but never let it worry me..........

What are they gonna compare you too? I live in a castle in England and Im the king of my own domain. At first glance i was going to recommend you drop the I from your name. Then i realized that you need only include an M after the I and a dash or space.Asking such Questions....

I+M-DEA.

Healthy paranoia is good.

This is beyond healthy paranoia though.

If you arent doing anything wrong, cops arent looking at video. If they DONT know you are doing something wrong, cops arent looking at video.

If cops are looking for you on video, you messed up elsewhere

/\i enjoy your posts btw.

i agree about healthy vs. unhealthy paranoia. if nothing else being nervious usually means you look nervous and that is a tip off that isn't good.

i rarely go to hydro stores but how can i really know if a store is under leo surveillance? sure i could stake the place out myself and watch everything to look for cues, and there are plenty of police training books on surveillance and countersurveillance techniques available if you do research on amazon (but i never buy anything interesting from them - records suck). so i could learn from the same textbooks that pigs do. irregardless i have to assume that the place is being watched as the safest choice.

to me paranoia is the unreasonable belief that "they" are after you. how is it unreasonable to believe that the pigs, and their sympathizers, are after people who like to grow an illegal plant?

here is a hypotetical example: facial recognition technology is cheaper than ever. there is no reason (other than budget and political will) why a leo agency shouldn't use digital cameras to capture pictures of entering and leaving a grow shop, use facial recognition technology to analyize that data (like compare the photographed faces to a dmv picture database's pictures for instance), and store that data for future use. digital storage is cheap and you never know when a random piece of information will fit into a future investigation. and capturing pictures of people in public is not illegal in the us.

there is a massive public and private business around catching you. that is a fact. people make excellent livings selling crap to the pigs to catch you and pig agencies justify continual budget increases to catch people like you. that is also a fact. there is a profit motive so people will do it, and like any business the smarter or more ambitious ones will use novel methods to do it (like using facial recognition technology for instance).

hell, the obama "change team" just said that obama doesn't favor mj legalization. look at http://change.gov/newsroom/entry/open_for_questions_response/

not even the great black hope will upset that profitable applecart.

so there is no "they" in this case. there is a they. and they really are after you. i act accordingly. if people think that that is paranoid then they can do whatever. no skin off my back.

really, if i were a cynic i would encourage others not to take steps to protect themselves. cops, like everyone else, love low hanging fruit because they are lazy. and that would give them something to do other than bother me. but i don't want that to happen. so i posted a public question so it might get other people thinking about this stuff.

and btw thinking i am dea is smart. i could be dea. so could you. there are leo reading this no doubt, so someone out there is dea, or some other group of leo scum.

google "the moscow rules" for an interesting list of cold war era cia rules for their moscow operations. now that is paranoia, but it is also smart given the circumstances.

the point was that things are not going to change anytime soon. bringing up obama was a way of emphasizing that. that is all.

i am going to close this thread because of the high threadshitting quotent. thanks to the few people who submitted constructive replies.

i had hoped that there would be more constructive discussion, but live and learn. good luck all.
