In researching methods of producing haploid plants and anther culture seems to be a relatively simply process.

HAPLOID PLANTLET REGENERATION THROUGH ANTHER CULTURE IN OILSEED Brassica species

Does anyone here have real life experience creating haploid plants?
Im tempted to give it a go, sterilization preparations and technique looks like the biggest hurdle to give it a go at home.

Thinking about females...

I was just looking up homemade gamma ray production methods to try to irradiate pollen but maybe nsa wouldnt like that much lol... I posted before about the university program that irradiates seeds for you and was thinking maybe they would do pollen maybe trying to pollinate with strawberry pollen and hoping for chromosome elimination is a better route to think about heh.

Anther culture seems to be a ggod way to make haploid males... what about the females?

A haploid is a cell with one set of chromosomes. Haploid plants are usually not fertile. But apparently you need them to make dihaploids which are. The end goal is 100% homozygous plants to select from. But before you get there you need a haploid :D
