Another cabinet ventilation questions!?

Hey all,

I have a ventilation question Im hoping to have answered.
Ive come to the conclusion that i need approx. 30 sq in intake in my cabinet. I was considering using a register or grille over my intake hole, but do you think the louvers reduce the amount of air flow passing through? So for example a 6x6 grille wouldnt truly be 36 square inches of intake?
I dont want there to be an uncovered hole in my cabinet letting dust and debris inside.

Hope this makes sense lol

Thanks

howdy Pawnampiza,

how you do?
respect

with respect to louver to register grille not much static pressure, similar not to filter total dust and such and such

with more efficiency to filter, more static pressure to restrict airflow
such variance within preference

similar at when to consider filter such and such style to filter to depend with flowrate efficiency
similar
type to material
indeed with respect to filter more large opening to require with respect to much efficient filter

at when to filter, such weave to block flow similar to maze
indeed various type to weave and airflow to travel
similar to various type material and design

best to you ventilation with supreme efficiency

respect

positive vibrations

If your intake is restricted, compensate with more sq. in. of intake. Rule of thumb is twice the sq in of intake as exhaust not counting restrictions. The area of intake needs to be calculated with pi r squared for circles because 2-4 in intakes is fewer sq in than 1-6." Good luck. -granger
