Hey guys, i haven't been posting lately but i figured i'd drop in and let ya'll know the pigs served a search warrant on my crib.
long story, here's a recap:
My girl and I were having an argument on a Sunday morning which led to yelling and screaming. I decided I needed to leave the situation and compose myself. I walked around the block I live on and decided to go back to the house to try to make up with her. This turned out to be the wrong decision. While we were in our back room two uniformed police officers literally walked into my house. When I heard someone entering my house (without making themselves known) I walked into my living room and asked the officers if we could please talk outside because I did not want to surrender my 4th amendment. But they did not honor my request because the first officer had spotted our marijuana jar on the coffee table. The same officers proceeded to search my apartment without a warrant. He discovered my two cannabis plants growing under a small light in basement.
At that point they put us in handcuffs and took us to holding cells. We sat in the cells while they proceeded to get and serve a search warrant. To their disappointment all they found was a small amount of cannabis, the two plants (which were not even fruiting at that point), and a tank of nitrous which my friend had left in my apartment 2 days before for our friends' going away party. Obviously they were thought that they were making a major drug bust but instead all they caught were two college students growing for personal consumption. The aftermath of arrest is 4 misdemeanor charges (conspiracy, paraphernalia, possession of small amount, and a charge possession of noxious gas) and one felony charge of "Manufacturing with Intent to distribute" (sadly there is no charge for cultivation in PA, any cultivation is automatically charged with this distribution charge).
I've had to withdraw from school and thus lost my job (i was a software intern but school policy requires interns to be taking classes). Thankfully i have a $3500 retainer with a damn good criminal defense lawyer who's specialty is probable cause. He says that it is a pretty safe bet that we will beat all these charges but of course is going to take a long time. And of course, if I do beat the charges, I am suing the fuck outta the state! Violate my constitutional rights will ya? Mother Fuckers.
My genetics are all safe thankfully, that was my big concern in the cell. I'm not that upset, I have already found a job with my old employer so i'll be doing carpentry again (which is awesome, i love building!).
Remember, they can take your shit, they can take your freedom, and they can take your life. But the fuckers can NEVER take your mind if you don't let them!
