An Organic Grow

Sweet grow, very stocky and green plants. I hope to gain some knowledge from you about your teas and what they do.
The teas interest me just as much as the grow, i especially like how u switch up there feeding. It probaly makes them happier as would to a human. Would this confuse the plant and stunt its growth or can it have any unwanted reactions when certian things are mixed?
Sweet shit Von

Quick update on the kids. We are in week 5 of veg. They are looking good. they have responded well to the soil mix and folair sprays.

Here are the kids:

some HTC #2

Some BB X Shivas

And one Stonehedge

They are all at week 5 in veg.

I have started my 2nd stage soil mixture I added amendments to the already composting soil mix listed on the first page.

The amendments are:

20 TBS Mexican Guano
10 TBS of Supertea dry mix
10 TBS of Alfalfa mix
15 TBS of Indonesian guano
For this stage I only use 1/2 of the dolomite.
15 TBS of dolomite lime.

I like to use different sources of N at this time. I will cut the soil a little before transplanting into it. With some un-amended soil. Using the N ferts this way will give diversity to the plants.

And I sprinkled Mike over the top without measuring. The soil already contained Mike so it was a light sprinkle.

Here are some pictures of the mix and how I do it in the garage. You can keep it in rubbermaid containers but I have the space so I just leave it out and cover it with plastic or a tarp.

The second picture is the base mix on the left and the amended mix on the right. I mixed the 1 st stage amended mix with the unamended and then added the ingredients listed above. By doing this I have some soil that is ready for use and the added soil is just starting to compost the amendments.

kind of like a 2 stage soil mix in one.

Here is the tea I used this week for a soil drench.

6 TBS Alfalfa
4 TBS of molasses (60 ml)
3 TBS of Fulvic acid (45 ml)
1 handful castings
3 TBS of Yucca extract

Here are some root shots at week 5

Now I foliared this week and didn't rinse :(.

Here is what happens when you do not rinse.

This just happened on the lower leaves. And only on a couple of plants.

Well that is just about it for this week.

Only 3 more weeks until flowering begins. Woohoooooo.

Until then.........

good night and good growing

wow ive been foliar spraying plants since the beginning and i don't think i have ever rinsed them. never seen the leaf get like that either. how much are you spraying on and what are you using. the finer the mist the better imo.

Hey JK. I was using alfalfa, molasses, fulvic and yucca. I think the mix was just a little heavy. Most likely the alfalfa. They are fine. I use a fine mist but apply kind of heavy this time. I was busy at work this week and didn't get to rinse them as I normally do.

I mixed the foliar kind of heavy at 1/3 solution to 2/3 water. I will have to make a mental note of that for future reference.

And to Dig, Thc, undertaker and Benny thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying the show.

Hi Von!

The plants look great (aside from the burn)! Very inspiring. I think I have been over watering mine. So today I gave them nothing! ha.

I also keep a few soil blends of my own wrapped in tarps. I am trying to find a good ratio for the coconut/rice husk charcoal mix. I hope to do away with perlite if possible...the dust is awful!

Peace

Quick question, V, that I'm sure has been answered over and over elsewhere... what's your method for straining your teas well enough that you can spray through an atomizer? Seems like 1/2 the time, even if I run it through cheesecloth, it clogs my sprayer nozzle.

Yo von, I'm pulling up a chair. I've been wanting to start organics for a while now, and converted from full AN to GH to organics, which is where I'm at now. You seem to have it down pretty well, and I'm impressed with the growth of your plants.

I just went out and purchased a bale of promix BX, 30 lbs of worm castings, some high P guano (3-10-1 i think). I've also got blackstrap, LK, floralicious bloom 1-1-1, cannazyme, rhizotonic and neptune's harvest Fish fertilizer. Started making a tea using some castings, blackstrap, guano and LK for my girls that just went into flower. They were transplanted into a garden's gold/bumper crop mix with perlite and Mike and fed some plain water before getting the first organic feeding.

So ya, nice to see this thread.

I use a cheese cloth over the nozzle inlet inside the spray bottle. You just have to switch the cloth when it clogs instead of trying to get the small particles out of the neck of the tube.

Cannigrow, Great to hear that you made the cross over.

Well everyone, I tried to update last night but there seemed to be some kind of problem with the site and I lost all the information I had just typed up. So, here we go again.

First off the kids have been showing pre-flowers. so far I have identified 14 females. I have transplanted them into the second stage soil that has been cooking for a few weeks now.

While they were in the 1 gllon containers they started to show some deficiencies. N in the lower leaves and some leaf markings.

Here is a shot of them

Now here is the way I like to transplant them into their new home......

First fill the container with about 1 to 2 inches of perlite. You can also use clay pellets but I didn't have any laying around so I used some perlite. I then put in some of the soil......then some castings.......then the plant goes in on top of that, directly on top of the castings. Then around the plants root zone I put in a TBS of Plant Success for the Mike.

I then fill in around the container. I top off with a nice bit of castings mixed with some perlite. Every time you water you they get a nice dose of goodness.

Here is a shot of the kids in their new home. I will keep them here for a few weeks now.

I transplanted them into 10 inch containers. which by the nursery standards is about 2.6 gallons. So, when you measure your amendments take that into consideration.

Now this post is a little behind the current grow time. they have been in this set up for about 10 + days now. After about 5 days I turned the lights back to 18/6 now and have started to tie them down because of my limited space in the closet. Their growth has slowed a bit and they have started to respond well to the LST.

I have identified two more females. some of the faster ones have started to start their stretching and showing of lots of pistils. One Stonehedge in particular.

I have been just giving them plain water with molasses for this phase. I did steep in a little casting just for good measure.

In my next post I will show everyone how I do this. It is kind of a generic tea brewing method.

but for now that is it.......

until next time.........

Hello everyone,

Today the girls recieved a good drink.

Per 4 gallons of water I added:

2 TSP Fulvic acid
2 TSP Humic acid
4 capfuls of liquid seaweed (about 2 TBS per gallon)

I put a quick whip on it to aerate it. I used the drill and paint paddle to do this.

then I gave each one about 1/3 gallon of nutrient solution.

I have been tying them down a bit before I transplant them into 5 gallon buckets. I came out with more females than I expected. the room is quit crowded now. And it will get worse. HaHa

Here are a couple of pictures of the males I'm keeping.

2 HTC's

And one BB X Shiva

Here are some of my attempts to tie them up. I used to grow in a big room where I just went through and snapped the stems and tied them up with a stake.

They are still on 18/6 for another 2 weeks.

I have a pheno of the Stonehedge that is responding to this type of light regime very well. It should have very long buds. It is filling in with pistils very good.

The next stage soil is almost ready. I will brew another tea and give it one last blast before using it to transplant into.

that about it for today.

until next time......
