Bud Bug
Should I try these out? I can get them tomorrow and would like to not deal with the radio interference if they do actually run a 100Mhz natively or are filtered hight frequency.
Are you saying the bulbs were making noise? How much was the bad boy? If this technology works, low frequency, I wonder how long before other ballast companies copy it?
Yes the bulbs themselves were waking the noise like a electric razor would. Also the radio next to the ballast lost most of the signal just like all the other digital ballasts I've tested.
The retail price should be in the $305-320 CDN
I'll make a video tomorrow of the noise.
have you made sure the bulbs are fully screwed in? if not this will cause them to make a humming sound similar to what you described. just a thought.
If I put it in any harder it would have broke the base. This was tested on a base mogul socket/octagon box for vertical bulbs and another reflector. Both bulbs made the same sound.
I'll video tape it in a few hours and repost back.
thought it was a bit of a long shot. might be worth ringing them up and see if its normal for them to make that noise. i've been looking forward to seeing how these perform. good luck with sorting it out.
+1, Thanks for the great info, why would AN bother selling a product that doesn't work. People are just going to be pissed and get their money back. They delayed the launch of the ballast for so long, why bother putting it out there if it doesn't work.
Is it just me or does the silver name plate look all scratched, the lettering looks flaked, and the edges looks cut with a jigsaw. It's just another chinese ballast with a fancy paintjob. I would luv to see some testing video before purchasing these ballasts. Do they work with flips. Under the IEC receptacle it says SUNHORSE, is that the manufacturer.
what did you find out?? I just about pulled the trigger and bought a half dozen of these today, but figured I'd come home and research it first...
did you return yours, or what? please update.
