Cheers Everyone,

I will be travelling to Amsterdam for leisure the second week of June. I have been three times before but never in the summer. I already have a list of coffeeshops that I want to check out but wanted some other opinions. Also I was looking for things to do with the girlfriend. I have done all the usual touristy things but I will have to do some again this trip. Anyone have any good suggestions in tems of off the beaten path sorta thing would be awesome.

Please post any other coffeshops I should visit...

Heres my list thus far:

Amnesia
Grey Area
420 Cafe
Greenhouse
Homegrown Fatasy
Rokerij
Dampkring
Chocolata
Barneys
Kingston

Any other travel suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I wanna check out the best and finest the 'dam has to offer.

I will now sit back and take notes... :joint:

I would suggest you try the katsu, it's a little bit out of the center not far from the heinekin brewery tour .

more in the center I would try the bushdoctor they ahve a few locations. 2 are near the rembrandtplein.
have you checked out the various markets?

dont forget about the twede kamer and dutch flowers.. they are beside eachother and both pretty good

twede kamer had like 26 strains when i was there last week.... and dutch flowers serves beer and also has some decent nugget.

there is also abraxas by the dam square... lots of room to relax and they have great hash shakes and brownies...

I just got back on saturday,
The guy serving in Dampkring last week was an Arsehole!, just shitty manners there is just no need!! (smoke some of what your selling and chill!)
and the Diesel i got was nowhere near as good quality as the Grey Diesel i got from Grey Area, the other spot that the Diesel was on form was the Greenhouse..
The quality of stuff i bought from Barneys was not all that, not really liking Barneys, too much of a tourist rip-off place (just my opinion)

my list of places to chill:
De-Kuil (where i spend most of my time while in the dam)
Abraxas (the one near dam square)
Grey Area - (try the Grey Diesel 1.0g 11 euro 5.0g 45 euro)
Greenhouse
Hill Street Blues (not for the weed but if you fancy a pint)
Bluebird - (try the Blue Cheese 1.0g 12.50 euro)

and its well worth a trip to Harrlem 10-15 mins on the train from CS..
if you go visit Willie Wortels, and a little coffeeshop called Teahuss (something like that anyway) its near the town square & big church...

niceOne and have a good un!

yep - can't miss Katsu or 2e Kamer - Flowers is not quite in the same league (imho) - but still very good
- the Nes cafe (in NES a couple of minutes from Dam Square) is also very much worth a visit

I will be in Amsterdam from Friday 16th June - so will probably miss you - but let me know if you are still around and we can meet up for a smoke

Yes, it is unfortunately so that unskilled labour cost less and is easier to find than skilled, so sometimes you're not better served at some of A-dam's high profile coffeeshops than you are at McDonald's. I've been served by kids in the Dampkring that couldn't even tell the difference between Sativa and Indica. Hopefully, one day they'll figure out that it hurts their reputation. I do my shopping at the Grey Area mostly, although the place is so small and so crowded that I often take my groceries elsewhere. Any place nice with a terrace facing a canal or a street with lots of good looking girls passing by will do really. There, I order in a beer to go with the Grey Area hash. In the summertime, I often go to the Coffeeshop 36, at Warmoesstraat 36. At the far end of the café, there's this perfect chill out room, with large, open windows facing the Damrak canal. It's perfect for a stoner afternoon, watching the boats passing by and the hustle bustle bicycling on the other side.

go to Gypsy Nirvana's Seedboutique at 163 Singel..there's a super wide variety of strains....the shop is facing the canal, the door is ten feet to the right of the shop itself and it's just on the other side of the bridge from the Grey Area......last time I was there I went in there and I bought a 4 or 5 packs of seeds and a small glass "twisted straw" pipe to use while I was there (I was also given some other packs for free!) and Gypsy smoked me out with some stuff he had int he stash box that made me feel like I was drunk - I'm not used to body highs! Viva La Sativa

if you hang around in Seed boutique or in a coffee shop for anytime you'll probably hook up with some other visitors to Am'dam and check out a few coffee shops together

the best advice is if you walk past a shop and see something you like - buy it there and then, not later...it's the combo of over-indulging in herb and lots of curved, look-alike streets ...you'll understand the reason why much better when you are there lol

have big fun............... and get lost.....

If you hang out at Gns SeedBoutique on Single, people like; ReeferMan or Sam the Skunk Man or Shipp can wander in. Maybe Haze Steve or Tony from Sagamatha will come in to do business. It is a nice place to hang but careful......the chairs have been know to throw people.

the seed boutique was closed when i was in a-dam ... but old pink says its up and running now...

i wasnt the biggest fan of burning at barneys coffeeshop... but there willie nelson, amnesia haze, nyc diesel, og kush were all very good and flushed properly..oh yeah the food is great as well!!

they also had some nice nepalese temple balls and some nice water hash...

there are many shops in a-dam and they can all be hit within a week easy!! .. enjoy your time, dont be in a rush ! and choose ur spots wisely.

the only problem i had with greenhouse was there weed wasnt always flushed... at least when i was there....

but again they all are good for something different.. one is good for smoking in, one has good weed, one plays good music, one serves beer , one has comfy seets etc

they all have there own tastes... and u will begin to see what ones u enjoy the most...

here is some amnesia haze from barneys on may 24th

best of luck!!!
