The coffeeshops need to be kept on a short leash for the system to work,IMO. The dutch need to be able to show the international community that its a workable solution. If they start working on a legal supply-chain as well,i.e licensed growers that pay taxes and can be kept to certain standards they have a pretty watertight solution.
The backdoor policy leads to violence and a reliable source of income that can be invested into other criminal activities.

Just read breaking news in a Dutch newspaper:
The mayor from Amsterdam Van der Laan just announced (1st November 2012) in the newspaper "Volkskrant" that coffeeshops will remain open for everybody in 2013.

No tourist ban !! :dance013::dance013:

just a bone for the un-aware

...how can they enforce that...even if they can't enforce the tobacco ban?
To add to my earlier point, they could enforce it quite easily IF THEY CHOSE TO. Every Coffeeshop gets "raided" regularly. IDs are checked, people are searched for heavy drugs and the inventory is weighed. It would be easy enough to add the taking of samples to be tested, and the shop be closed down if results show over 15%.

Apparently he's agreed to the under 15% THC rule though...

If these two posts are true, then this is a further attack and of no real value or truth.

Certain standards v. Criminal activity CAN NOT be under 15%thc for the system and the rest of us in a cage. No person anywhere in the world has the right to say how much THC% a plant may create.

Point a gun at the plant and tell it not to go over 15%, let's see where that gets you.

We could personally limit ourselves to weak thc strains, but why? I'll stay a criminal thank you.

they could...and if they will only time will tell...it is always better to be patient and let everything sort itself out.

the Dutch have done pretty well so far in many different income-producing areas...and I'm sure they will not do anything TOO drastic

...but, if we get rock-bottom honest we DON'T KNOW how shit will turn out :blowbubbles:
