Well.....I must say that I had one Hell of a good time. First off.....nobody looked like I trhought they would... BOG was kinda what I had invisioned....but still older then I thought.
I met alot of cool people but would like to say right off....a big thank you and shout out to HumboldtHigh....his wife....and there good friend "J". I had an absolute blast hanging with you guys. You are truley real people and are welcome here at my home anytime! Thanks for the great memories and hope to get together again soon. :friends:
When I first arrived.....I felt like a fish out of water. Nothing in English really....many different languages and nationalities in A'Dam. I knew my Hotel was off the main street, Damrak. I stood outside the train station to smoke a cigerette, my first since my 9 hour flight and travel. I stood on the wall and smoked about 4 drags before I was hit up by my first of at least 1000 pushers I encountered through out my stay. He walked by very close and slow and whispered......"cokas, extasy.." and slowly kept walking by waiting for me to respond. I have always found the best thing to say is..nothing. Kinda look the other direction and ignore them, they walk away.
In the small alleys and on corners is where the pushers hung the most. They would say..."psssst" followed by a list of hard drugs. After a coouple of days of this and it starts to get a little annoying....but still amusing in a way.
I found my Hotel with no problems and was even able to check in a few hours early then 1PM. My room was about...7'x12'x8'. A bed..armoire..dresser and then A door where the bathroom was. Seeing that I just needed a place to stash my stuff and pass out at the end of the day....it was cool. I made my way to SB and found Duth...Gypsy...Uncle Stoner(this guys is a trip!!! ) and BOG. The first two days were getting to meet people and trying to learn A'Dam. ALOT of walking....which is an easy way to get around. Bikes work out best I think.....they can go down the alleys that some cars can not go down. It was nice to meet Rez....Smokey and Jimmy, the ECSD Team. I had the pleasure of smoking all 3 and must say it is Top Notch smoke for sure. I would gladly take 3rd behind the ECSD. Watch out for next year though......I am already brewing stuff!!
It is a stoners paradise.....coffee shops all over the place. All kinds of food shops ...pastry shops....clothes...electronics. Kinda like an old school style NY.....but WAY cooler  The weather was a little cold for my Florida Ass! I was wearing my leather jacket and winter cap most of the time. Not a cold person really... The trip to the Botanical Gardens was great......The Grow Shop.....The Boat Rides....everything planned went well I thought. Some things were delayed in time...but went off fine was it got going. A big thanks to DG..Red....Gypsy.....Thumpa...Old Pink...and all others involved. I had the time of my life and know there was alot of work put into the 420 Cup. It was an honor to have been involved and take great pride in my 3rd place showing.
It was also a great honor to have met...smoked and hang out with Soma. He was kind enough to distribute some of his AMnesia Haze. He sat and smoked and talked with a bunch of us....what an incredible person. He has this aura around him and his wife and family. Such true real people....One of the highlights of my trip along with my placing 3rd.
I am having problems uploading pics......so once it is straight....I will upload some pics as well.
