Ammoniated smelling strains

I'm on the hunt for stanky ammoniated/catpissy/piney/fuely/mothball smelling cannabis strains. I don't want any fruit or sweet smells, just dirty eye burning gagging pissy weed!

No access to cuts so please don't suggest any!

Where should I start looking? RD's Cougar Piss and MNS Afghan Haze are two that keep coming up in my search. Any thing thing else I should be looking at?

Dark Kush had a nasty ammonia pheno, that or it wasn't dried properly, ammonia develops when dried to slow/high humidity. Sounds like you'll like Chem91, OG's and so on, RDS has some hybrids. Bubbledust has very pissy phenos as well.

Well like I said no access to cuts but I do have a few Chem and OG crosses in my seed stash. Those are more fuel and lemon pledge than I am looking for though. Growing some 91 chem x old time moonshine now and one pheno is very oily and poo smelling. I love smoking gross smelling weed (the good kind of gross) and then after having a glass of water and can still taste for example the garlic from chem d in the back of your mouth.

Used to smoke some afghan haze and super silver haze back in the day they were heavily pine, piss, and metal smelling and nothing else. I may just have to invest in a pack or two of one of them from MNS to find a nice plant to hold onto.

OG Chem from CSG is brutally stinky. I have a pheno that smells like a freshly fertilized lawn. Like it just came out of the Scotts broadcast fertilizer. Motivation from Magnus Genetics has the strangest chem/ paint/ ammonia sort of smell to it, the pheno I had was also very potent.

Snow High Seeds California Purple Haze, (Purple Thai x Neville's Haze F3) x Neville's Haze F3 has some really nice pheno's that fit your description.
I have a pack of Rare Dankness Cougar Piss I've been pondering on popping...

i do remember some bags of weed that smelled like that had been dunked in ammonia, not a smell i enjoyed
disturbing that it could happen naturally, had always heard it was some screwed up drying process

Yep NY always had those pissy hazes when I was younger. Whether it was just some SSH/Afghan Haze/NL5Haze or the more rare Piff/Uptown Haze, I always loved that kind of weed.


Thanks for the suggestions. Been looking at Snow High for awhile now as well as Motivation, good to see that strain carries the funk (I love sensi star -- that's probably where the paint smells came from)

Found some words by Neville on the cat piss terpene in haze/haze hybs. Interesting stuff.

The cat piss smell associated with Haze is the result of inbreeding to the Haze. Inbreeding to siblings or half siblings, is less damaging than inbreeding to the same Haze plant.
NL5 was somewhat neutral in smell and when crossed with the Haze, it expressed the various genotypes behind the Haze very well. I have grown large numbers of NL5HzA and NL5HzC plants from seed. Considering that the HzA male was dead, I could only use it's daughters to put back to HzC.

This single inbreeding to the 1969 haze males exponentially increased the amount of cat piss types in the progeny, but still allowed a useful percentage of truly superior plants to shine through.
The average age of the NH grand parents is about 40. I don't believe that this can be said about anybody else's lines. They are more inbred, hence the cat piss.

The offensive odor in skunk spray is caused by mercaptan, which is a sulphur-containing organic compound found in some very nasty odors, including skunk spray, anal glands, and very old urine. mercaptam is a thiol i'm not sure how to but you can possibly relate that to a terpine that greenhouse seed co. might have studied to target a strain with a better percentage for continuity.

Subjectively, the first two are the most pungent, Methanethiol (also known as methyl mercaptan) is at the top of the list and with the info regarding NHaze the smell may be a defense mechanism.

Tom Hills Haze should hold piss phenos, I remember reading. I think SamS called the piss phenos a sign of some kind of inbreeding, maybe based of the Orig Haze..?..can't remember

Tried the ammonia, garlicy Dark Kush from late (I guess?) Bluehemp, after it got dried and cured.
The ammonia/piss smell has been dulled out a bit, just taken the egde off, now it's still pissy and onion, garlic, dirt/earthy, and sweet fruits especially lemon(s)ene under all the stink. Now just a little sweeter and more kind to the palette.
Lethargic, red eyed stone, as promised.

i used to grab this weed called Cat-Pee, i was told it was a Hawaiian Haze...it had crazy dreadlock foxtail buds...very up high...i miss that smoke..its all Kush now,,

I pulled down some of Vulkania Seeds V2 about 3 months ago and I thought I had done something wrong in the cure, it was so cat pissy. Turned out it was absolutely fine, the smell was just real pungent. Amazing in the vape, leaves your lips tasting like pine pitch.

i have a pheno of guava 13 that i call the chemical corpse pheno, its wince enducing rotton flesh soaked in hot cat piss and turps with a side helping of ground mothballs. its repulsive!! as soon as i taker her out the cab the whole house reeks for hours and nothing will shift it!!

however the smoke is tangey fuely , hints of pine and hashy.. VERY POTENT,all in all very tasty and enjoyable.. unlike the smell,

i dont think il be growing her for a while as the smell is a security risk even with a good carbon filter!!

People seem to have gotten confused with chemical vs. ammonia, but as stated the urine tone seems a result of inbreeding to the ancient Haze Bros. stock. For some reason it also makes sense that the metallic profile also shows up in the same line when inbred. Methanethiol is a compound, although thiolate relationships with mercury could be correlated to aforementioned metallic tones, I believe isolating terpene is far different than attempting to relate compounds to cannabis' genes. I concede that we can all grasp the odor as regards thiol, but I still feel its relation to cannabis is of a compound nature.

If we think of skunk I feel what we are noticing on average is the reaction of sulfur and yeast. I also theorize that the methanethiol found in the urine of male mice could also be serving the same biological function in cannabis i.e., semiochemical.

I find a Vicks-Vap-O-Rub (Camphor) smelling pheno in some LUI x Blue Moonshine F2's from time to time. I have what came to me as Cat Piss Kush, but it's just an inbred SSH. No cat Piss that I've found, but it's got the most Lemon funk of anything I've ran across.

I always associate ammonia smells with weed that was bricked when still wet.

The RD Cougar Piss seems to hold favor, but another strain from them bred with SoCal CatPiss is PMP Haze. Cougar Piss uses Afghani #1, but there is a strain using the same archetype called Odyssey. Gage Green Genetics uses Odyssey in their Journeyman strain.

try bodhi mountain temple , its only thing i,ve come across in 15 years or more that its just rotten something . one tiny bud in a bag will stink your whole house out . if any topics come up about stench this is my go too strain .
i took few buds too the missus , you could smell it in the car a week later. 2 buds in a bag 20 min drive .
