American Idol trashes Seattle

H

Hal

What the hell does American Idol have against Seattle?

Most of the contestants seemed like they were the result of in-breeding. It made Seattle look like the farthest thing from a hip city that you could find.

I bet the Idol folks got real bad press before they came to town, and decided to make the town look bad in retaliation.

I lived in Seattle for 8 years, pretty recently, and there is no way the city is populated with such CHUD types.

Didn't they just start a new season? I avoid that show like the plague, but I know that the first several shows of each season are mostly mentally disabled people auditioning. Not saying that to be mean, I mean they are actually mentally challenged, and this show is exploiting these people. Every time I see it I can't help but think, some cruel people told this obviously unstable person that they had a great singing voice and could win the show. Actually convincing them of this, then the people at American Idol don't seem to care about their obvious disabilities. They'd let the guy who plays Corkey go on there and sing just so they could make fun of the "retard", and call him names. Because, as sick as it is, the American public loves it. So I guess it's more the publics fault than it is the producers.

agreed 99% ... the other 1% would maybe try to word it more "politically correct" but the point would be the same....bang on man ... and sorry to say I watched it. ....

another good point was the person saying they must have had bad press before coming to town....I could see something like that happening....although it would have been a post Seattle editing decision though!

Peace

I usually avoid the show also, but last year I watched the auditions...mostly because the contestants at this point are kinda funny in that they most often don't have any talent, and it is just amazing that they actually put themselves on a national stage....Don't they have friends and family to clue them in before they make fools of themselves?

The show that just featured Seattle contestants went beyond the no-talent wannabees though, it seemed like the contestants were all coming out of the backwoods....funny looking and crazy. I know that is kinda what the show focuses on at this stage, it just seemed a lot worse this time.

You mean where I said the word retard? If so, that's why it was in quotations. I was trying to get the point across that this is how the judges (particularly Simon) and the general viewing public views the contestants who are only there to belittle. See what I mean? I wasn't actually calling them retards, just trying to make a point.

yeah idol and similar shows... BB included are excecises in simple to complex human conditioning. Its ok to voyeur on someone and its ok to be voyeured on... so to speak.

watchin other people is ok, exploiting other people is also ok. am sure you see where I am going with this.... humans also... like chimapanzes have a tendency to chatter and gossip fills this need very well. To keep people occupied and distracted we will fill their lives with gossip inducing tv shows and shiny objects.

meanwhile back at the ranch we will steal all their stuff and sell it off.

as for people going on these shows and being embarrased. It just shows how poor peoples self image is and their understanding of their self image is also messed up. People often have an impression of themselves that is way of the mark or at best a soft lense view of themselves.

I'm not obese I'm just big boned
I'm not fat I'm jolly
Despite my 250pds I do look good in these stretch licra bike pants

I was going right a book on the delusional abilities of humanity. We are without doubt the only living thing on this planet that lives in a world of self delusion.

I dont watch those shows, they exploit and condition the participants for whats to come. I for one want to live outside of this upcoming "matrix", for want of a better word... and no that movie was indeed shit... the warning holds tho

Its always been the idol format. Stay tuned later in the season for some talented singers but first lets take a look at how three millionares make fun of the less fortunate. I cant wait for the special double DVD where its just 18 hours of non-stop crying of rejected contestants. Seacrest must wear water repellant blazers. [ when he isnt trying to shove his 'big blimp' in Simons mouth.]

Apparently contests are put before another panel of judges prior to being put infront of simon and all them. In other words these people know their bad and the purposly put them up there for entertainment value.
