a close friend is something of an authority on psychedleics - having sourced and tried everything from 5 MeoDMT, through 2CT7 to ketamine and alphamethyltryptaime

he insists that nothing blew his mind like Amanita muscaria in terms of sheer force and profundity

a very important point to note is the importance of heating them gently for an extended period of time in order to convert a particular toxic component into a more benign psychedelic agent
(I belive it is converting ibotenic acid into muscarine, or muscimol - I forget)

a good way to do this is to simmer them in milk, just so that there is very slight bubbling around the edge of the saucepan - they should then be at the right temp for the reaction to occur

you are then likely to have an intense trip, whereas failure to heat them loke this could see you feeling pretty ill

I am told they do not taste bad, but that potency is highly variable

you are likley to need unwasted individuals around

erowid is a very useful site for this kind of thing

Yea wass reading on erowid now. Was just questiong their pschedellic nature to that of psybilon based shrooms. I've tried lsd so Im ready for another trip. Also was looking into san pedro. Heard its not as strong as peyote but that there are ways to extract it to make it of worthwhile potency. Ive heard both amanita and mescaline make you vomit or have the potential to.

Tried only once, smoking the dried red skin, pretty trippy.
Can't be compared with Psilocybe or LSD, not an indole compound. Can give one true hallucinations.
Age old shamanic tool in whole Eurasia. Don't do that stuff if you have liver problems !!!

If you're looking to have fun and do some tripping DO NOT eat the Amantias. If you're looking for a profound experience, munch away. I have a field of Grade A Amantia's a few blocks down the street. I smoke em with people usually, you get a kind of body drunkeness with not much head effect, it can be fun when you're in a good enviroment.

sensible preparation makes a big difference to the effect - which I have it on good authority is awesome in the sense of truly epic and visionary

I have tried smoking them too - it made me feel drunk and charged, and slightly tripped out

manner of consumtion and quanitity make a big difference I am sure

I think in low doses it could be recreational

high doses it will be skull-fuckingly strong

given how variable their strength is I think you would want to do a trial run, on a batch you have picked/bought

I wouldn't bother buying them given how easy they are to find from late summer on

as mrico implies it has been said the skin contains the majority of the active ingredients

you shouldn't have an issue with vomiting and passing out if you prepare them right
you will still get skulled no doubt

it is fabled that it is the Soma, or a ritualistic drink from Hinduism which brings the drinker enlightening visions. . . i believe it is also what the "Beserkers" in the Viking army that used amanitas before going into battle. . . but i could be mistaken. .

Definately consciousness expanding, but not necessarily for the faint of heart. It can be a bit intense on the stomach, but the effects after that are nothing but Divine (as is everything! =P )

but i reccommend trying to for yourself so that YOU can decide whether it was good or not, otherwise you are letting someone else live YOUR life. .

san pedro isnt bad either, but keep in mind that it can give you a bit of an upset belly =) (either that or my stomach is just very easy to upset)

Id advise salvia if you are looking for Divination tools. But not if your just looking for "another high" . . . because that lovely lady can rock your world =) Its good with Sinninuichi (sun opener), apparently they are soul mates and work well together . . . but thats another experience all together. .

i just say, experiment with things that you feel are safe and Right, and be sure to experience them in a place that is safe and secure for yourself, so you have no chances of injury. but you should really experience things for yourself so that you can decide from your personal experience whether or not it is worth continuing to use this substance for whatever purpose you are using it. . . but otherwise you arent the one deciding, and in my mind that is not beneficial to your growth . . .

be safe friend

lots of Love and Light

I've heard that unless it is grown in the right medium, picked at the right time of year and prepared in the right way it can be quite dangerous...but I may be wrong.

I have tried salvia before and am looking more for something for profound experiences like that gained from LSD. Salvia was a skull fuck in its own but not really a profound experience just me getting skull fucked then tossed for me to sort out exactly what happened. From what I heard its the lack of profound experiences which is why I am investigating into san pedro rather than amanita. Also as far as use with the exception of weed I try to keep my experiences under 5 with other substances. Their "effect" in that the reason Im taking them wears out after that. I have tried LSD twice and am looking in to trying it atleast 3 other times in my life. No experiece yet compares to the sheer pleasure and insight I had while under it's influence. Yet I also know that overdoing it ruins that whole purpose.

I have been curious about amanita muscaria too and did a bit of research awhile back an decided to just stick to psilocybin. Friday I ate an eighth of some of the most potent shrooms I have ever had before and went and saw snakes on a plane...when I bit into the cap and saw that deep beautiful blue I knew I was in for a wild ride. Fifteen minutes from consumption and I already had breathing walls...needless to say Friday night was the hardest I have ever tripped, visually and sensory...friggin amazing is the only thing I can say, later on in the night I went a little crazy mentally though thinking about "reality" and "existince"...still have 9 grams left mmmmm, got too much to do today though.

The deal is this: They have to be prepared right, Perparing them converts the Ibotenic Acid in the mushroom into Muscimol which is the chemical you're trying to ingest. This is done most simply by starting an open fire and cooking them above it untill they are very dry and somewhat cooked. Then they are usually consumed in that state.

Amanitas :) I will go today in woods for "normal" muschies... so I will find some of
amanitas or psilocys and we could try them together:) something like transatlantic
AIR AMANITAS:) I live in time GMT +1 so let me know and we could take them in right
hour minute and compare feeelings:))))

robobound - I read in your post that you're looking into trying San Pedro and Amantias. San Pedro is a lot closer to LSD/Mushrooms but still in its own league just like the other 2 are. Amantias are a completely different class, not saying stronger, not saying weaker, just different. Hard to explain what happened to me, but its worth a try if you're into psychedelics. I'd suggest going to http://www.erowid.org/plants/amanitas/amanitas.shtml, and looking through here http://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_Amanitas.shtml
