Alternate light cycle for moms

Hey everyone. So Ive been battling heat issues in my mother room and I had an idea.

If a single pin prick of light during a dark cycle is enough to knock flowering cannabis out of flowering and go hermi, do I really have to keep light directly on my moms for the full 18/6??

What I mean is this. I have two rows of moms, one row on each side of a 10'x12' room. What if I simply ran one side of the rooms lights for 12 hours, then had it shut off and the lighting on the other side of the room come on for another 12 hours.

The plants are not separated, rather they are sitting in an open room. Would the ambient light from the opposite side of the room be enough to keep them from flowering? Im sure it would if a single pin prick can knock them out of flowering during the dark period???

Sure they wouldnt grow as fast... but thats completely fine. I dont need them too.

A single light unit lights the whole room up anyway, plus it would keep the temps down for me too... Ive been battling temps. Also the electric bill would benefit.

What do you guys think?

Run your veg room 12 in, 5 off, 2 on, 5 off. Greenhouse growers use it and some pro indoor guys too. The two hours on keeps the dark cycle broken up.

It works!

I firmly believe this will work if you have the rows close enough together and enough coverage of the lights. In order to answer your questions accurately, we would need to see a photo or provide the layout and specs.

Let us know,

Yeah I know it's called 12-1, I explained it for our friend instead of giving him a misleading term and a google link.....

Hi Soopy, I don't believe we have met. I'm Budelight and its nice to emeet you. Sorry if that came off with a bad tone...

You did a great job explaining how it works. I wanted to empower OZZ_ with unlimited information about the flowering schedule.

Good luck guys,
BeL

My bad! I took that the wrong way, my apologies....

It's a pleasure to meet you too.

Ooops.

Good info in a lot of "standard" greenhouse management books or university (.edu) sites. Fwiw...

a single pin prick of light during dark cycle is not going to interrupt flowering nor is it going to cause your plants to "go hermi"
