altering homebox grow tent

hi, i have an old (slightly rippied lol) 1m*1m*1.8 m Homebox grow tent, which is a bit big for where im living now. any ideas on whether it would be feasible to "shrink" it? i was thinking of adapting the poles and connectors i had to make a smaller frame, and then somehow cutting (??) the cover to fit the frame. im think about about .6m * .6m by 1.2m, like their new smaller version.

any ideas on how to go about this? im terrible at diy :badday:

i should say, i am not sure about sawing the aluminium poles (i have trid bending and snapping a copuple but this messes the ends of the pole up so that thy wont fit in the corner bracket).

also, what kind of material or tape can i use to patch up the sliced up grow tent?

anything is possible...its all about how much time and effort you are willing to invest. For me...this sounds like a pain in the ass project that you couldn't pay me enough to do. I know myself well enough to know that my time and energy would be better spent doing other more constructive things. I'd buy a smaller unit. I've used a homebox, put one together, grown in one, disassembled one and put it back together, there is no way in hell I would attempt what you suggested. :) Just my 2 cents :) Good luck if you do...I want to see pictures!

it seems we are similarly minded, im not a diy fan at all. but i am also poor, so im thinking of just folding and tapig the excess material around a smaller frame, could just get some alumi9num tubes (could stretch to that) cut to size at hardware stores, so might not be that bad. but im having a bad time with the tubes, as when isnap them they dont fit the plastic corner bracket any more. tried pliars, takes an awful lot of effort

i'd say the easiest thing would be to get some 1x2's and L brackets to make a frame the size you need...

i cut the aluminium tubes i already ahd, worked a treat. also missing a couple of corner brackets, but masking tape has made too and i've added a couple of spare support poles to the back and sides.

i am just about ready to cut up the old grow tent, i could really use some advice about whether it is easy to reseal it (i was again thinknig masking tape)

and a final slightly underelated question, if my carbon filter was used once, a while ago, will the carbon still be ok?

also, can i put my seedlings and my grown LR#2 in the same cab, with a blue light for veg and a red light for flowering (will the red light affect the seedlings adversely etc)
