Does the massive toy recall in this country bother anyone? This is bothering the piss outta me. Have any of you visited the CPSC website and looked at all the lead recalls for childrens toys?

Who do you point the finger at? CPSC, Mattel, or CHINA?
Are we only searching toys....what other products that american consumers purchasing contain dangerous amounts of lead?

Now...im gonna put my tinfoil hat on, so bear with me. I firmly believe that china is the instigator on this. Could this be a way to weaken the US and the rest of the world for its 'peaceful takeover'? When 1 in 125 kids have autism....it makes one think. I have no proof but I have always been skeptical of china and believe they are knowingly doing this shit.

One more reason for me to boycott this crap....but its damn tough to not buy anything not made in china.

Does this raise concern?

basically, it will **** you up! it can cause brain damage in children and neurological disorders. this is why they banned lead paint. after some time, the paint would degrade and lead would be released as it degraded. everyone was suffering. bad times from what i've read.

LOL Taxiboy.. i doubt it's a war tactic. might just be a case of typical CMEMORY LABOR in a foreign country.. courtesy of cheap ass, uncaring, WTO-supporting multinational corporations who are always trying to get away with something. right now, we're reliving the meat packing scares of the early 20th century - zero regulation! increased contamination and poisoning and so on.

if you want to point the finger, point it at the companies. they are the ones that are responsible for QUALITY CONTROL! that term should be rebirthed as the buzzword for the 21st century in these times. QUALITY CONTROL! the companies go overseas just for this exact reason - relaxed regulations require lower costs but lead to a serious lack of quality which leads to more problems.

it's not just the toys ya know.. it's not just lead either. food, medication... lead, antifreeze chemical in toothpaste.. damn near everything that's coming out of china is ****ed up! they've got too many damn people so they're trying to build too damn fast. **** that. let them kill their own people until they get it right!

The problem with lead paint is that children will put anything in their mouth(unlike my ex-wife) and they eat the lead paint. If they get too much, heavy metal poisoning can occur. This can cause brain damage and motor neuron disease.

yea, lead is hard to get out of stuff, including you body. its jsut cheap is all, i doubt they really are trying to poison us since they are poisoning themselves at the same time by producing with lead.
yea i use ayurvedic toothpaste (go vicco!) and dont take any pills from a bottle (well sometimes echinacea, or herbs i encapsulate myself)
it is pathetic but its whats necessary to produce all that we crazy american consumers think we need.....so just dont consume it!

We used led pencils throughout school and even been poked with it and written on. Never had any problems. Could be that the led made these days is even cheaper and more toxic. Toys made from led seems real bad as kids chew and swallow this stuff. The WORLD just wants to make more money. You think the presidents of these companies provide these toys for their own kids??? and its Pb for plumbum (i know its not spelled right) since it was used in plumbing long long ago.....

Let's not forget the recalls on pet foods, I know many people here have dogs and cats. I think it was tainted wheat gluten used in making some gravies that led to a major recall on several brands of dog and cat food. Guess where the gluten came from?

Do I think it's a conspiracy? Possible... a pre-war act, not too likely. They might not like us that much, but we give them stupid ammounts of money for subpar merchandise. Why would they overtly attack us? They're just sloppy and don't care if we get sent crap.

Not really. When you're the big bully on the block, you're always looking for the challengers to come around. At least that's my view on things, from here inside the USA. We're fighting in places we don't need to be in, pissing off lord knows how many nations... I'm waiting for it to really start biting us in the ass.

Yeah, I work in the toy dept. at Wallyworld, so believe me, I know what you're talking about. Almost every preschool Dora/Diego toy is on recall. Although, after the Pixar Cars' Sarge got put on recall, I was kinda happy about that. I have one of the "affected" cars, and it will fetch a pretty penny on eBay. But about the dog food, I went nuts hoping that my dog's brand of food wasn't on the list. Thank God it wasn't, but it got me researching dog food anyway. Did you know that there's dead dogs in dog food? And supposedly they never check the dogs for diseases, which can be transferred via digestion to your dog. My moms ****ing crazy about her dogs. No dog food for them...nuh-uh. I remember one time she made them Lobster Bisk. Swear on my garden she did. Lobster ****ing Bisk!!

yeah i heard a lot of people are hardcore about their pets, especially those show dog types. **** that store bought shit. they treat their dogs better than themselves and their own kids. fully cooked meals with fresh everything daily. i agree with it to a degree. i wouldn't mind giving a dog "human" food but they'd have to be eating what i eat, not better than me lol. unfortunately, the only pet i have is growing in the closet and im gon kill the bitch in a month, i think. lol
