I am designing a new grow box at the moment, currently just using an old set of drawers.
I want to have a mom/clone section, flowering section and potentially a drying section (above mom/clones). The dimensions can be varied a bit, they're just a rough estimate.
So, the external dimensions are 2*1*1.5m (w*d*h), that's roughly 6.5*3.2*4.9 feet.
The box will be split down the middle, giving 3*3ft for mom/clones and 3*3ft for flowering.
I'll be using a 600w hps for flowering, but I am currently undecided on the lighting for the other cab.
My plan is to run perpetual sog, keeping the plants relatively small just pumping out more plants.
Currently I am using 8x 24w cfls which works fine for that setup, but will get ridiculous in anything bigger imo (25 cfls to match the hps wattage).
My thoughts are to run some fluoros for the moms/clones as 1. The clones will be small, and 2. I don't need a ridiculous amount of clones from the moms.
I work at an electrical wholesaler so the gears easy to come by cheap. Would I be better going for an led batten over normal fluoros or will there be no noticeable difference?
Also, I'm fairly new at this so taking into consideration limited skill/experience, with a strain that will grow a couple inches in a few days after feeding(under 192w of cfls) how many plants do you think I should run, and what kind of harvest could I be looking at? I understand that this will vary, and likely improve with after a few runs so just an estimate.
