He had the understanding there is no Time. Thus it doesn't matter when he said what he said. Relevance cannot changes if there is no Time.

If there is no Time there is no 'becoming'. we cannot 'become' ... we either are, or we are not. When there is no time there is no Duality.

(One does not need to be a Guru to observe this.)
