AK-47 isn't intense at all?

Hi, I grew some s.s. ak-47 from seedsdirect and I just harvested like 2 weeks ago. I took the buds down from harvest after the stems snap. So I couple buddies of mine test it out and they tell me the smell and taste is there but the high isnt all that great? Can someone please help me on finding out whats the problem? Should I cure for a month ? Thanks

oh yeah and the trichomes were amber/cloudy

Well the high is strong and narcotic but not soaring and intence. Lazy, sleepy and a few more elves thrown in for good measure, maybe grumpy too.lol
Not daytime friendly is what mine was.

Hi,

Ak-47 is a difficult one, it should be mostly sativa. As it was originally. If it's Sensi's i'd trust it would be the proper AK. So maybe you're not noticing the high so much because it's not stoney? (when i feel good i don't notice uppers so much)

Like people expect AK to be heavy and sleepy. But imo, thats not real AK, unscrupolous breeders and coffeeshops have bred more indinca in for production and better flowering times. making AK more heavy and stoney. some have been selling everyone's favourite :/ powerplant as AK.

I was talking about this in Nirvana's the other week, apparently people have been asking for the stoney ak, ie they've got used to the crosses.

having re-read your post, maybe i should have noticed the stem snapping part. how many weeks flower did you achieve before snapping, and flowering after~? plants will revert from flowering to repair mode if they are damaged.

gettting back to my point, some breeders grow great power plant and can sell it as AK-47, and some people grow ak47 so bad they have to sell it as powerplant.

Sub NL, what you say is very true. Did we talk about this? I grew AK-47 about 10 years ago, it was from the tube package, Serious. It was super white,small and not a great producer. I did not get the sat pheno but i have read about it. Selection was not necessary with mine because all of the girls,7-8 looked like sisters.
Back to what you said, go across the street to the GA and check thier AK/PP.lol

Im growing both Serious AK47 and Nirvanas PPP.The Powerplant is taking forever compared to the AK,i cant believe how fast the AK is and its deff a Sativa .Its purpling up big time and two of the 5 i have smell very berryish(cherry AK?).They should be ready for the chop very soon,but with all the trichs theres gotta be a sweet ass buzz,lol.Ill do a smoke report on the AK soon,the PPP is gonna be a bit.They dont resemble eachother at all to me,the pp is tall and stretchy but not real far apart on the nodes(looks to be a sweet NRS plant again ) with way diff leaf structure and smell(pp is not fruity),the AK is thin leaved also but shorter in structure and the buds i dont know yet because there not as far enough along on the PP yet..How do people confuse the two?Are they related some how?Anyways they both look good,its hard to believe SS's AK not having that punch, does Sensi have OK 47 or Ole 47?.Peace and stay safe,DancesWithWeed

FMD - If you've got the CherryAK pheno, you NEED to hang on to that one...I hope you've got clones if it is or reveg em to take some cuts. It's a rare pheno that is highly desirable for breeding.

Just because it sounds good doesn't mean your going to like it. AK47 is one the best strains you can get but I sure there are alot of growers who don't care for it. I got plenty of strains to grow and try and I'm sure there will be some that I don't like. I grew out the AK48 and it was some of the best tasting herb I had so far. It was very potent but it had a paranoia high to it and almost a stupifying effect too. I liked it alittle but the paranoia thing I didn't like. Maybe there is a better pheno.

Hi, mynameisstitch long time no see. This was grown in a kbs setup which usually flower for 10 weeks but I flowered around 7-8 weeks because they were getting real sick(some buds stickyness went away, some buds smell also went away while growing, and also leaves were definately dying). My plant setup was a 5k watt/4 plant setup. I personally think I took it down too early.


MTF-SANDMAN- How would I know if I had a cherry pheno. Some of them actually smelled like cherries and one plant yielded around 2lb and some ounces but I didnt get a chance to clone it .

healthy plant = good

dying plant = bad

Potency does depend on how well you grow your plant. Since you don't want to tell us what light you used, I'm suspecting you used fluoros which are just not meant for flowering purposes. Second of all you said your plant was dying. Third of all you said you harvested early.

Fourth of all, some plants are just no good. Sometimes you get a plant that I call a dud. Smells, looks and tastes like it should but the weed will either not be strong or give you a headache.

If you grew several plants and it is the same with each, it is however most likely not nr 4.

It all pretty subjective
I have tested the SS AK 47 & it flowers fast
although it needs a long veg period to do it in 47 days.

If you grow them Indoors with a 10 day veg period you will end up with plants apx 2 ft tall
& they need at least 60 days flowering + to pack on the stoney buzz.
The aroma is very floral & the lung expansion is avarage.

Personally I prefer earthy , spicy aromas with very good lung expansion
& a potent uplifting buzz.

The flowering time of varieties can be compared to producing fine liquors in respect to
that it takes time & patience to achieve the Quality products.

yeah, MOD hit the nail on the head... Grey Area's AK47 is truly one of the finest pots i've ever smoked... ... it's definately got that Sativa bite to it...

but i believe that their AK predates Serious Seeds... dammit, i had a conversation with John @ GA about this, but i can't really remember.

i found a solitary seed in a batch of AK i got from the GA... i'm very curious to see what it'll do...

The Cherry AK47 is an extremely stocky, dense, and majorly yielding phenotype. The scent of nugs produced are of a luscious Black Cherry/Plum Liqour with coffee/chocolate undertones (very rich). The potency is also very intense, yet very balanced.

I'm betting your lack of potency was from cutting way early and lack of health during that flowering time.
