AK-47 & HDF Side By Side Bio-Bucket Style!!!

Dr Watt

Who What
G'day, I think flushing and nute ppm near harvest depend on your cure time and the breed. BigToke what do you consider the right length of cure time from cropping ?

Mary, yeh quoting EC avoids differences in ppm conversion. NZ hydroponics gives it 70ppm but Hanna 50ppm. It is easier to calculate EC by 50's because you divide the EC by 2 then x 1000. js.

I am not sure that the cure time has any thing to do with the flushing at all or the other way around it is an interesting theory thou ~ there is no set time period that I go by, during harvest as the plant starts to die I like to flush and drop my ppm’s to around 600 too 800 for a few days, I normally use the 24 hour dark period also…………………….I would like to point out that I do not do this to bring down the ppm levels in my plants!![u/] the reason for this is to assist the plants in there dieing process.

Beautiful job , glad the AK worked out for ya. I thought bout gettin tha HDF , but saw that REEFERMAN offered an improved version . Looks like THseeds need to do some more work on their HDF , I'v seen poor yeilds and quality too many times to count on that strain from em.

Yea I know what ya mean, with a name like Heavy Deity Fruity you would expect something pretty big………but I was average for me anyways.

Nice roots shots, BigToke! When I finished a Bio grow with tap water and Lucas 0-8-16, my roots always ended up a tea-colored stain from the GH micro. This always puzzled me because others got white roots. I have a theory that the softness (PPM=50)of my water causes the staining. Do you have hard water?

Here's a pic of my roots in late bloom. Note that parts of the roots that were not submerged are still white. Though the roots are brownish, there is no root rot. They still smell fresh and are firm, just stained from the GH Micro.
That's why I'm so jealous when I see your roots!

sup petemoss ~ “tea-colored roots” well I don’t really know what does that for sure, my water hardness is 140ppm that considered soft I do believe ~ but I have my own theory about those tea-colored roots; each bucket in my system has its own ball-valve to adjust the flow of each bucket, what I fist started out I have to find the right flow adjustment for each bucket to make each flow evenly, I remember not having done that and a few buckets were not supplied enough flow/exchange rate and the roots turned out tea-brown like that, so I thought that I mite have been Oxygen deprivation and it was not long after that I evenly adjusted each bucket in the system and have not had that problem again……………..so who’s to say who is right, I would go with your idea as well as mine

BT, do ya got any budshots? This grow is amazing! Cant wait to see the weights. Those trees got a lot taller than the last time i seen them. Great job. Thanks..........Herb

here ya go a.k.a_Herb, I’ve had a change of hart so here’s a few pic’s of my harvest and the total yield was nine-pounds two-oz and six grams altogether. The AK-47 yield and the Heavy Duty Fruity was on average the same but I prefer the AK-47, my goal was twelve pounds but I ran in to some small problems, I would have had enough to go over ten pounds but I lost several oz to mold!! Here’s a few pic’s enjoy!!

Beautiful dense buds, BigTokes! Too bad about the mold though. Do you have a way to decrease the humidity?

I think he has a whirlpool dehumidifier setup in flowerroom. Bigtoke, Can you give details on the mold? HDF or AK? Cause? Or was it in curing/drying? Impressive shots BigToke.

petemoss ~ thanks dude, yea I have a dehumidifier and it worked great for all the other grows that I have done this is the first time I’ve every encountered mold in my grow/room………….I thank the prob was that between massive size of the AK & HDF in the same room was overpowering my dehumidifier plus I had a hole in the floor to suck up fresh cool air from underneath the house and I believe that’s were the mold originated from ~ the AK and the HDF had pretty much the same.

vill ~ well like I said I’m 100% sure that the mold originated from the hole I had cut out in the floor of my grow/room to let in fresh air ~ in the past I have found out that it’s a good idea to dry/cure your plants more quickly than normal to reduce the spread of the mold.

Bonzo ~ Thanks bro…………..like I said I normally don’t like to talk about the yields but as this is a big part of what every grower wants to know about before building a hydro-system I thought I would change my mind I hope this info will be useful to everyone.

Great harvest BT !,
9 elbows and change is a great pull, sure is going to be alot of work trimming all that up bro...and i hope you have a set of bubble bags to run all that trim through, you'd end up with quite the pile of bubble .

Great job man.

Peace

A harvest like that needs some special considerations!

Humidity! Where do you like to keep it during flowering? I've been dying to ask that question, and hopefully get it answered. My last harvest I lost some to mold for the first time. Partly it's good because I've never had buds dense enough for it to settle in but it's always sad to loose some the reward of our hard work.

I'm trying a perpetual harvest and I heard it's good to keep it down later in flowering so I was wondering what would be a good general flowering humidity. Since I don't have any later in flowering I've been keeping it in the 30% range during the day and the humidifier has brought it down to the 50% range at night-it was in the 60's to 70's before. I could set it to remove more but I don't know if that's a good thing??

Great pictures of a great harvest!

All the best,
Mary
