Aircooled Cool Tube on light mover possible in 2ft wide space?

The space is 2ft wide and 4 ft long. The Cool Tube measures 19 inches long. I wanted to run it perpendicularly to the length of the garden but that leaves 5 inches of clearance total for either side combined. Is there any way to effectively air cool it with that kind of setup?

Were the tube in a fixed position, you'd only need sacrifice and inch or two of the clearance to attach it to a flange, provided it was all in a straight line. Movable, there would be a bend in the duct and, even with 4" ducting that last inch will be taken up by the curve.

If the width of the cab is set (unless you're an experienced glass cutter) I think you'll need to spin the lamp parallel to the length of the grow to use a mover. Have you considered two cool tubes perpendicular to the garden?

I could run the light parallel to the garden, just figured that the light distribution would be better the other way. Probably makes no difference with the light being mobile. I haven't seen a system that has a cool tube on a mover with exhaust hose. I would think that the hose would bunch up in a functional way as the light traveled to either side. Any pointers?

Haven't thought of the 2 cool tube setup but I DO have a couple of pyrex bake-a-rounds in storage..

would you really need to put that light, given that situation, on a light mover? i guess a better question would be what wattage is the light that you would want to move?

anything hid 500 watts or under in that space is more than perfect. I reccomend a 400watt bulb on that mover. Since you are probably growing for personal smoke and aim for quality over quantity, you should get a ceramic metal halide, that is if they make them in the 400watt size yet. If not, go with 2 of the hortilux blue 250watt bulbs, or two 250watt cmh bulbs, and scratch the mover. And oh yea, get a reflector wing for that cooltube if u end up using it. As far as making it fit, be creative, use a coat hanger and squeeze the reflector inward, and then jus leave it there or somethin.

I'm going to get a 400w CMH w the digital ballast. The light mover and cooltube I bought a few years back and never used.

So you guys don't see any issues with the tube's exhaust hose bunching up the wrong way? I figure in a 4 foot long space the hose won't be stretching much at all, maybe 2 feet max.

oh, damn, I thought they did. Is CMH THAT much better than a hps? I was hoping to have the quieter operation of a digital ballast.

ballast arent that loud actually, ive heard a few that put off a good hum but most is way quieter than anything you are going to be using to cool that space.
