Aircages in Coco

Hey, just a quick question, would adding this air cage in the bottom of a pot do much or even be beneficial? (illustration)

I was thinking of adding this. Any suggestions on what material could be used to stop the coco from getting in the cages but would allow the roots to penetrate into the open space?

Any feedback is welcome.

its almost not necessary as from what i have inferred, coco retains both water and air very well creating almost hydroponic growth in an organic medium therefore an air pump really isnt needed

its no different than the residual air already in the medium, it just happens to be moving and constantly being forced in....i dont run coco but if i did i would not use a pump in that way

This is quite interesting since I too use aircages in my autopots.

I turned the cages "upside down" so that the coco fills them up, therefore the space required for the cages is minimal and the loss of coco is marginal.

Whoever the question wether it dries up the coco faster or not is difficult to answer. It probably does but then again water and nutes are cheap and the "circulation" of nutes might be a good thing - always fresh.

I have 12 ladies in their 6th week of flowering and they drink about 10L of nutes everday.

Another question is: Can the plants get to much air?
