I grow SCROG style, and will be moving into tents. Has anyone found any cheap stands that would hold air pots a few inches of ground, and let runoff drain to saucer below?

With scrog do not want to lift plants to get saucers out for emptying?

Thanks!!

Get some hardware cloth, 1/4" would probably be stout enough. Cut it into a square, then bend each corner over to form a leg. It has to be heavy duty guage wire to do this.

I was thinking that kind of wire, attached to square wooden frame, with 3 sides of wood, so can pull saucer out below it to dump. Like 3" X 1/2". was hoping someone made something cheap, and inert. Using just the wire, would be more inert, since plastic coated.

Dunno how to edit typos

Great idea, and completely inert.

I will try experimenting with wire mesh and pvc.

Was just thinking of PVC design. If I run 2 parallel pieces of pvc, 7 inches apart, for 9" pot, about 16" apart lenghtwise. 13" water collection tray could easily be taken out of 2 sides.

Will post a picture when I get it done.

Really hoping to give up coir soon, and go back to flood and drain. So much easier to automate.

Thanks for all replies!!!

A piece of plywood painted with kilz primer works well, install it with one corner low and catch run off under that.
Easy to repaint as normal maintenance, once every year or two has worked well.

3 pieces of 2"X3" X whatever, in a U, on edge.. good idea I wood, with shim at the back piece to create that angle for run off.

EDIT: or sort out how much/little you can put in with no run off.

I am leaning towards a wire mesh, or open pvc. Already have large saucers to collect. Have been killing myself with turkey baster and little pieces of sponge, to soak up. To be able to slide out and dump in seconds, would be awesome. Would be great if they made 3 way corner pieces for PVC

ebb and flow trays...yeehaw..no need to reinvent the wheel..good trays have grooves/channels whatever ..not sure a screen is nessasary,i don't think you would see any added benefit

They make three way corner pieces for pvc. Two sides are generally slip fit and the third is threaded. I use a pvc frame with my smart pots with 1" fencing for the bottom and another for a modular scrog at the top. I can pick up the whole shebang with the plant, pot and scrog and move it around easily. I also made legs for the modular setup out off threaded rod and some nuts that can be used to raise and lower them to keep them close to the lights.

I'll see if I can dig up a picture, but a few years ago I built a modular scrog out of PVC (wood would work fine too).

Each scrog frame had a 2x2' screen on top, 4 per light. I made them all exactly 5' tall and suspended a saucer (for rockwool cubes) or just the pot itself from the top of the PVC frame with coated metal wire. So the plant would be hanging under the screen, above the floor.

The upshot is my plants could be anywhere from ~3-6' when flipped and all be exactly the same height in scrog.

I also liked having the plants all hanging above the floor and with some space between them... Could just set a bucket under a plant and flush away without moving anything. Also seemed to make it difficult for pests to get established.
