Air Exchange Necessary during Dark Cycle???

Is it necessary to exchange AIR when the lights are off? My guess would be yes because the humidity tends to raise during the dark cycles... I guess because the plants are transpiring. So... Again... Is it necessary to EXCHANGE the air during the dark cycle or is just circulating the stale air around OK during the dark cycle.

yes i think it is a good idea to keep the exhaust goin as the humididty would rise greatly.

It is not necessary to exchange if you keep humidity in check with a dehumidifier. You need to control heat also so it's a two edged sword. Dehumidifiers do put out some heat then there's the heat of Summer, maybe use an air conditioner, and cold of Winter, use heaters. These are possible scenarios as every setup is different.

During veg if its dry outside you may want to turn it off to promote humdity. Of course, if its wet outside and the air is humid , excess humidity becomes a problem. Right now, I'm in early veg week 3to4 day 22 and because of the low humidity I've had to increase humidity and turning air circulation off during the dark period was one way I increased humidity (my plants are in early veg).

maybe, also keep in mind if its making it a larger swing of temps from lights on to lights off, you might just want to let the humidity creep up, smaller temp swings give you closer nodes

Redux is right you almost have to use a dehumidifier in flower when the lights go out in a sealed room,my rh will shoot up 20-30% every time.Another thing I noticed since I got my cap is the buildup of co2 after the plants producing it all night long,when my lights come on I'm at around 2500PPM every time.For this reason I installed a 80 cfm fart fan in the ceiling and put it on a wallswitch timer to come on during the dark hours.When my lights come on I want to be around 1500PPM or even less,I dont care if the generator has to kick on.What I do care about is those first couple hours where the co2 is dropping from 2500 and probably not doing the plants a lick of good,thats too much fluctuation for me.EDIT The fart fan brings my PPms right to around 900.

the problem i have with a dehumdifier is the heat output. im tryinh to figure out how im gunna incoporate it in the grow

Mine throws out some heat if I use it during lights on but I rarely do,its the dark hours you have to be concerned with.Its just recirculating the air in the room so during dark hours it basically has no effect on temps at least in my room.

What i'm gathering is the heat from the dehumidifier can work to ones advantage because it will cause a smaller temp swing which as our bro holler@yoboy reminded us causes closer node growth.

the only problem i have with a dehumdifier... well two problems one the power it draws. im all about keeping my bill down. two its pretty ineffecient for you to dehumdify and then run an AC unit to take care of the heat. now we as growers may not have anyother choice im dealing with the same problem now , but im also looking inot dessicant dehumdifiers. but that gives you less control over whats going on. maybe we can pool our brains to figure out how to solve this problem. for me, in the end, im gunna do whats best for my plants.

When my 8 by 8 room is full I'll pull 2 gallons of water out in a little over 12 hours normally and thats with the AC running,if you really want to do whats best for them you're gonna have to pull that water out of the room and a dessicant isnt going to get it
