Here is the thread I promised. I have a air-cooled CO2 generator. It is really very efficient. Heres a photo:
It is a 4 burner CO2 generator that has a sealed metal chamber at the top. The flame shoots up and heats the metal of the sealed chamber, and the air runs through the sealed metal chamber, cooling off the majority of the heat from the flame. It has no pilot light; it has a glow plug ignitor. The unit comes with 2-4" ducts on top, I added 90's to it. Make sure you have it mounted to joist in the ceiling, as it is HEAVY. I run it as the last step of my light cooling ventilation. It is controlled by a Cyclestat, a short interval timer, which is further controlled by a Control Wizard, which shuts the CO2 off during venting to remove excess heat or humidity (During the winter, it is rare to have the main exhaust come on, and in the summer it comes on infrequently). As long as the exhausting for the generator is run properly, it adds very negligible amount of heat to a 10'x8' room with a 8 foot ceiling. I have seen these recently at altgarden.com and they are now called Megagrowth, and are available in 4, 6, 8, and 18 burners. Worth every penny of what I paid for it If you have any questions or comments feel free....
