Air-cooled LP CO2 generator

Here is the thread I promised. I have a air-cooled CO2 generator. It is really very efficient. Heres a photo:

It is a 4 burner CO2 generator that has a sealed metal chamber at the top. The flame shoots up and heats the metal of the sealed chamber, and the air runs through the sealed metal chamber, cooling off the majority of the heat from the flame. It has no pilot light; it has a glow plug ignitor. The unit comes with 2-4" ducts on top, I added 90's to it. Make sure you have it mounted to joist in the ceiling, as it is HEAVY. I run it as the last step of my light cooling ventilation. It is controlled by a Cyclestat, a short interval timer, which is further controlled by a Control Wizard, which shuts the CO2 off during venting to remove excess heat or humidity (During the winter, it is rare to have the main exhaust come on, and in the summer it comes on infrequently). As long as the exhausting for the generator is run properly, it adds very negligible amount of heat to a 10'x8' room with a 8 foot ceiling. I have seen these recently at altgarden.com and they are now called Megagrowth, and are available in 4, 6, 8, and 18 burners. Worth every penny of what I paid for it If you have any questions or comments feel free....

 Hi there BudGood, thanks for posting this up. Sounds like you got that room of yours together nicely. Just to clarify, this device runs off or burns LP?

I use them too, they burn LP to create co2 and co as well. Basically, what he has done is taken all the heat off the heat plate ontop of the burners and remove it so that the room doesn't heat up for the 5 minutes that the burner is running every hour or so. The amount of heat it puts off is the exact same as a barbeque pit. Its pretty intense and this device allows you to remove that heat.

I have a couple units, and the only thing to do after you buy a megagrowth co2 generator, is buy a Plug n Grow IGS-220 to run it... never be happier in your lazy ass grow room, lol.

Thanks. I could probably have a nicer car or somethin', but this has always been my main hobby, the thing I *really* enjoy. So I like to buy cool stuff for growing. :D

It runs off LP like a car runs off gas. I was rather vague, wasn't I? :pointlaug Chodo elaborated nicely on how they work. I myself just figured out the size of the room in cubic feet (length x width x height) and figured out how long it had to be on in order to reach 1500 PPM, and set the Cyclestat accordingly. It comes on for a 2 minute duration at an interval of 45 minutes. I would love to get a better climate controller that controls EVERYTHING, from lights, irrigation, CO2 levels, humidity, temp, etc. Some even have alarms built in that tell you if theres fire, smoke, flood, glass break, motion alarms, and door/window contacts. The system calls a number you set (you), and you can listen in to whats going on, and/or talk to whoevers in the house! Amazing the gadgets that are out these days... :smoker:

and the better they are the more we need to sniff test them to see if they have the ABILITY to spy! [report home etc] but if you only use 2 minutes of 45 then couldn't one say that perhaps you don't NEED a unit quite that large? like a 2 burner for 4min out of 45 - thanx in advance!
