Air cooled hood / ducting / fan size noob question

First off, i wanna say sorry if there are already threads about this topic, i'm just not sure what to type into the search engine.

I basically just bought a Cool sun grow light system shown here ( http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/customkititems.asp?kc=HLHPS06SC&eq= )

And i bought a 4 Inch Vortex fan to cool the light. However, the air cooled holes in the side of the reflector (where the ducting is suppose to connect to it) is 6 Inches.

I was wondering if there was like a ducting reducer I should use, or if it was alright to use the 4" vortex to air cool this light with. Should i return the vortex for a 6"?

thanks for all your help

I'd keep it simple, efficient, and over-engineered. If no shipping is involved, exchange that 4" for a 6" and forget the reducers. The cost of a pair of reducers will cover the price difference between a 4" and a 6" fan. A speed controller might be nice.

you can use a duct reducer, but like said above you'd be better off with the 6" if you dont have to pay to ship it back. You can always run 6 inch duct and reduce it at the fan though.

Also, what light are you running?
