After some info on AK 48(nirvana)

HEllo all

I have two diff types of AK 48(from nirvana)
One is indica
And one looks more sativa(Not full sat tho))

Anyway i was under the impresion that the True AK 47 was a Indicia...
but i think i read the other day the true AK 47 would be Sativa

So not sure now what is what*smiels*
If the ak 47 is sativia then i should let the Indica pheno go?
And keep cloning off the sativia one?

Is it worth keeping the two pheno's going?


Tbh i dont really understand Much about it all...So any info be great

Ak47 is a sativa but grows more like an indica. (short flowering time plus dosn't stretch to much.) Pick the pheno that suits your grow room plus suits your smoking taste. In other words grow them both then pick your favourite.

Ahh right thats a good point

My grow area is very small(only 4 and a half ft hi)
And for this reason all my choices so far have been what i thought was inidca strains(tho i did grow a cali O(just had to try that))*smiles*

So for me yes the Ind would suit me much better.....
Taste/hit wise

I dont have much experience in smoking good stuff(where i live it is mainly solid(UK))

So anything i grow tastes great to me*grins*

If i decided to finish off the Sat pheno i would not be getting rid of the AK 48 at its nearest to AK 47?
That make sense?

Let me put it this way
Which of the two Pheono's would be more like the true AK 47 from series seeds?

No one of these , i grew nirvana´s Ak48 and SS Ak47 3 years ago , all ak48´s went purple in summer , were ~ ok smoke with nice yields , next to them SS Ak-47 grew into deep sandlewood- skunky smelling very resinous plants .... NO one turned purple at any stage of flowering , only some discolorations due to low temps over the winter month , i kept the best Ak47 , got her for 2 years running all the time some Ak´s untill i culled about 50% of my veg room ...
there´s no ident trait in those 2 seed line´s -being the name the most ident

better to go with Spice Bro´s Ak47 f2´s for 25 $ instead with some Nirvana stuff -

my nephew has an ak 48 and that this is friggn frosty ass sticky bud structure is pretty ugly compared to ak 47 which is tight and dense. The smoke is pretty good i wouldnt say its great. peace..

I was under the impression SS let Nirvana use his AK 47 but they had to call it somit else(ak 48)

I grew out some AK48 and it was some potent shit. I had a small plant but she was frosty. To tell you the truth she was the most potent strain I've smoked so far. I haven't tried alot not yet but so far she is the most potent. With Nirvana your going to have variation and some may not be that good. I think I got a good pheno. I loved everything about it but the high. That killed it with a heavy paranoia stoned the fuck out high. I still got 8 beans I'll pop one day to grow again to see what other phenos I can get and see if thier is any others I like. Well worth growing for the $12.50 I paid for it.

I got a few White Russian crosses in my stock and that has the real AK47 in the genes, but other then that I don't have plain AK47 to see the differences in the two. So I can't compare.

Well got two pheno's(2 e inccdica 1 is sat)Flowering(only a week in)
And some cuttings then off both types
They both seem to off had a good spurt in first week of flower(tbh hope they dont get to big in next week)
but even tho one is sat other 2 are ind there both keeping the same sort of height...

I guess it's just a case of suck it and see(Or rather smoke it and see)*grins*

yeah i had grown a pack next to a pack of SS´s version and they were´nt the same ... maybe i got some very purple influenced pheno´s ... , but what is lost for 20$ ?
and i´m refering to that what BillyGoat second´ed in another thread in the breeder´s forum

I have to agree and i think they are doing that. I think it might be the old purple skunk or the strain that was called Eastern Purple. I grew this strain out in the mountains and loved it. I think the father might be on the purple side and might be causes all these different strains to produce purple pheno. Just like you said, only my 2 cents.

and i cant believe that Simon gave his Ak to Nirvana to make some f2´s as he was very pissed of that B Dronker´s bought some packs of his BubbleGum and sold it under the same name ... , right Simon´s strains have all patented name´s , so Dronker had to change the name to DoubleGum ... (white label - Sensi) ... thats the point i cant believe it ...

It was not so much he let them have seeds
But folk were knocking out his ak 47 as there own(Ole 47?)
And think Nirvana called it ak 47...

And they came to a compromise and called it ak 48....Was not a lot Simon could do....

I dont know any of the parties involved tho
So all i am saying is what i have read(In some cases more than likely what i have imagined)*SmileS*


Tbh i dont have a clue about any strains really...So if u say you dont think SS would do that with nirvana then i belive you(i dont kow eitherway)

I've tried both Ak48 and Ak47, they look pretty similar, but I did prefer Ak48 for the taste, more sugar in it.

first seeds I've done from Nirvana, and I was very happy with it, full of resine and nice look til the end.

Ahh right that is interesting beastbody,i would of thought the 47 would be better...

Since starting this thread tho,i am starting to realise there is No "Perfect"Plant/strain/pheno so on....

I am going to follow the two diff pheno's i have tho(infact was in there 30 mins back having a look)
It is amazing tho how both pheno's are behaving...The two Indica are identical to each other....
The sat is deff growing diff(apart from the leaves)
Will take pics in a few days(i be about 3 weeks flower with them then)

i have been using nirvan for about 3 years and i have to say that their strains are all over the place. the thing is nirvana never both stabilising their strains very much, so there are alot of different phenos.

this year i grew 3 small ak 48s from nirvana, all the plants looked identicle, then when they got to flowering there was 1 male. i got rid of that then a week later the over 2 plants showed the starts of flowering, but i was very confused because one of the bud sights is bright purple with green hairs and one of them is the normal green colour with white hairs. and i was very impressed by big bud either, they have been flowering 1 month now and the buds are still very small.

AK is in the top 5 of my fav. I went with the more indica one.One run i did with the nirvana ones, i could swear i got the cherry pheno. Every time i opened the jar ir smelled like maraschino cherrys:
