I got some afghani recently, and figured i'd do a smoke report. I was given about a 1/4 of this, so i'm pretty confident on doing a report. I am not sure of the origin but i was told they were from an afghani cut going around in cali, but they sure are some tasty buds. Here is my description and smoke report:
Strain: Afghani
Description: Very dense nugs, like little tight rocks. They are very uniform, and seem to be trimmed very nicely, infact i didn't have to take one leaf on any of the buds and i am very picky about leaves. Upon inspection they also feel dried properly, not too dry but not any moisture in them either. They look very crystally also, you can tell right away it is going to be a strong smoke. Lots of amber colored hairs also, buds are almost white with some slight green in them.
On to the smoke Report (1-10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best grade)
Smell-7: The smell is almost a rotten smell. I can't exactly pinpoint it, but to be honest it has a very pungent almost obnoxious smell. Also has some earthy undertones to the smell. Not my favorite smell, but certainly unique to me.
Taste-7: Very strong bite to the taste. Has a very earthy and hashy taste. You can tell the bud has been flushed and cured properly, but the pure mass of trichomes makes it a very thick pungent smoke. The taste is very similar to some AK's i've tried.
Lung Expansion-5: Very harsh on the lungs, have to pause in between hits and rest for a second. It's not a chemically cough you get from unproperly flushed bud, it's the type of lung expansion similar to smoking kief or very potent bud. The lung expansion is similar to some of the hindu and master kushes i've tried.
Potency-9.5: Very strong smoke, it's the type of indica that just knocks you for a loop. It's hard to keep your eyes from closing when smoking more than a bowl or two. Even in small amounts, you don't feel like moving....major couchlock. I haven't tried a stronger smoke to date, although i don't have the best access to strains as i live on the east coast.
High-7.5: High is fairly relaxing, but sometimes too relaxing with smoking alot. Major munchie smoke, although i haven't tried too many strains that DON'T give you the munchies lol. Very good night time smoke, the high seems to be almost pure indica. Couchlock feeling is very similar to some white rhino i grw a few years back.
Overall-7.5: I'd say it's some pretty good smoke overall. Certainly not something you can smoke early in the day though. The high to me does get boring after smoking alot of it, and the tolerance seems to build up fairly quickly. But to me, this is common with most indicas i've tried. This smoke would be very good for Nausea or sleeping problems though. The potency is something not easily matched though. I think it has alot of medicinal qualities.
