Alright, i got some nice bud for Christmas. This year i was gifted some Afghan. I'm not sure of the breeder, or if it was from clone. All i know is it's some very good bud, and it was obviously trimmed and cured very nicely. Well, heres the smoke report:
Appeal: 9 - Looked VERY nice. Just from looking at it, you can tell it's been dried, cured, and trimmed properly. The nugs were VERY frosty, and the hairs were a very bright orange as you can see from the pics. The hairs were a golden brown color. The buds were fairly light in color also.
Smell/Aroma: 8 - the smell wasn't the greatest. It's a very piney but sour smell. Very similar to sour diesel but more piney than citrusy, but the sour smell is there. The smell was fairly faint though, suprisingly.
Potency: 9 - Very Potent, hits you very hard very quickly. Not the most potent i've tried, but still very strong. It also had a very strong numbing effect, as most medicinal indicas do.
High: 6.5 - the high wasn't really my cup of tea. Only certain indicas do it for me, so i kind of expected this. The type of high, is more for a person looking for a strong stone with a strong couchlock effect. Seemed almost too couchlocking, which i didn't like. I was very tired, and didn't want to do much. made me very groggy also. The reason i don't think i liked the high is because, i like indicas but only ones that aren't too strong and not too couchlocky, sensi star being my favorite. This had the most couchlock out of any strain i've tried in awhile.
Taste: 9 - i liked the taste alot. It was piney but also had a touch of fruitiness which wasn't expected due to it's smell. It wasn't too harsh either, which means it must of been cured atleast for a little while, considering how frosty the buds were. I found if i smoked a bowl though, after a few hits the taste would get very bitter and nasty due to the quick resin buildup. So, i decided just to pack like a 1/3 of a bowl at a time, and it works wonders.
OVERALL: 8 - This strain was mediocre, which proved just because buds look really good doesn't always mean they are. It was decent, but i don't think i will go out of my way to grab some more. I'm sure this strain would be better for someone who loves couchlock highs, but i'm just not one of them. Besides, i want to try a few different afghan's from different breeders to see if i like them any better.
