Hi Ive just started flowering my first plant , and using crown bloom nutrient which consists of bottle A and B bottle , also got given mega crown which is a bud booster , my question is do you keep using nutes every 2 days or use water every now and then to stop lock up?, because I am hand watering

:gday:

It really depends on your medium. Lock out happens when you're pH is so far out of range that the plants can't eat so I think you're using the wrong term, it sounds like you are worried about over ferting.

Yeah I forgot to add im using coco , I can see where you are coming from and it's doing well , yeah over ferting is a concern but im sure if you are you can back off it and so fourth if there are issues ie nute burn. Thanks for your heads up.

If you keep checking up on the pH and watching your plants closely, you'll be fine with the schedule. If you start to see that the plants are burning, stop what you're doing.

Of course, whenever I nute, I use less than the manufacturer recommends. I'm sure it's saved me from burn more times than I'd like to count.

I use the AN nutrient calculator since it does the work for me and I don't have to think too hard about what I'm doing. I just put in the feeding schedule I want to use, then I follow what they say. However, I've found that using 25% less is a good rule of thumb with less hardy strains. The nutes can be too powerful for the wimpier (read: cheap) varieties. LOL

The best rule of thumb is just to watch your plants closely. That's what the best growers do and that's what you need to do in order to make sure you avoid problems instead of causing them.
