advanti 2x4 help

Hey guys

I bought an avidti 2x4 tent to run a 400w mh/hps AC hood in. I am running with a 6" inline 270cfm fan that is drawing air directly from inside the tent via the AC hood. The downside in having right now is the fact that I am venting through my dryer duct which is a 4" hole.

Also the other issue is the hole on the top of the tent is an elbow/90* angle. I am currently running my duct through that hole with the fan sitting on top of the tent. I've got it as straight as possible but I don't feel a significant draw from the opened end if the hood.

Does anyone run a aviditi tent? If sohow is it setup?

Ill post photos later tonight. My Max temps are at 91

Hey guys,

sorry for the delay! I finally got some pix. I've also made a quick edit to the tent which pulled that 90 degree turn more straight and also relieved some of the weight that was coming from the fan just sitting on top.

attached some photos of what i got!

The main problem is your fan doesn't move enough air...hear me out.

Traditionally, when air cooling your light(s) you would have a fan soley for air cooling the lights and set up as so...

Outside air > fan > ducting > hood > ducting > outside.

The initial outside air can be from outdoors or from the room the tent sits in,but the exhaust for air cooling your light(s) should always be exhausted out of the room the tent sits in rather then dumping the hot exhaust air back in to the room the tent sits in as that would just raise the ambient temperature (temp of the room the tent sits in and draws cool air from) tgus raising temps in the tent.

Then, you would have a second exhaust fan rigged to a properly sized carbon filter solely for ventilation/fresh air intake of the tent and would be set up as so...

Room air > passive intake(s) > inside tent > carbon filter > ducting > exhaust fan > ducting > outside

Again, exhaust outside of the room so you don't raise ambient temps.Exhaust either in to attic, another room,or slap some plywood over a window (with blinds visible from outside, this makes it look like a normal window from outside) and cut a hole large enough for the exhaust.

Another key factor is your ambient temps (temp of room the tent sits in and draws its fresh intake air supply from).Lots of newbs forget to factor that into there calculations....LOTS!

When noobs ask help designing a grow they should always list size of room, size of tent/cab in room (if growing in one) and what the ambient temp of said room is.From there lighting and ventilation are easy peasy.

In order to both cool the light and ventilate the tent with one fan you'll want to get an exhaust fan that's at moves about twice as much (if not more...you can always slap a speed controller on) air as the one you are currently using...so about a 440cfm exhaust fan.

just ordered a 400cfm fan. Also added to the list is some nutes, ph meter, temp control switch and a fan speed controller. Hopefully this will be enough to keep it cool at a stable temp.

For the time being i've got one of those evaporative coolers in the tent. I've been freezing blocks of ice(found a circle plastic tube that i can freeze with water) and i've been dropping these blocks into the water res. This cools the air down considerably. I've got temps sitting at 80-84degrees. So for now this will tie me over.
