advantages/disadvantages of "working plants" before lights out

Was wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages of "working plants", LST, Super Cropping, etc. prior to lights out or just after lights on....Is it better to have the light for a good while after the training or better to go into dark rest period...or does it matter..thinking on going to 12/12 light cycle and having lights on at nite for heat reasons and they will be working while I am sleeping.. most of my work will either be right before lights out or right after lights on...

I always did the work of lst during lights on I lst'd 24 plant's so it took considerable time. I was a newbie then. I was super into it then. I think plants are a little less rigid during night. that could make it easier. I will tell you don't do any tying down till your pots dry out some. I have had branches snapping right and left when I tie down right after watering

Also doing it at night will keep your growth ahead. when the lights go on plants start reaching for the light.

I doubt very much that it makes any difference at all on LST. The plants don't even notice a branch that is simply tied lower as long as not bruised . On HST like supercropping perhaps would make some difference but I don't see how since suppercropping takes several days for the plant to recover anyway and the redistribution of auxins will still be immediate...

sorry for stupid question but how do you work on them if its dark in there....

I always keep a green light in my room. plants can't see green light. just make sure it's led light not an incandescent. The filament in incandescent can produce white light even if the glass is green. kinda hard to work under the green light though

I've ran into this for the very same reasons.

Work..? as defined as Fimming, LST, S-Cropping,Potting up, watering, feeding, foilar or bug spraying, pollinating.. etc etc

after serious thought and discussion with the 'pros' in other fields,
I've settled on

Lights on: (to avoid any risk of infection in the cut)
Watering
Fimming and Cropping
Feeding
Foil and Bug spraying
Pollinating ( in a separate area)
anything that may damage or risk the plant

Lights Out: or just before
Transplanting or potting up,
so the plants get to recover in their 'sleep'

Good Luck
