i work for the biggest hydro retailer in boulder colorado and i can tell you right now that the only people in my shop using AN are the newbiest of the newbz.

Its one of our slowest moving lines with the highest markup and we more commonly have customers that are buying the one liter sized bottles as opposed to gallon/2.5 gallon and bigger.

This tells me that the only people who are wiling to run their nutrients, are just starting- hobbiest kind of growers.

carboload might have been their one stand out product that people liked to add to their nutrients regimens and also bud candy sells decent well.

carboload was recently reformulated to add another 45% water. these bottles use to feel thick. Almost like a molasses but now its just like any other watered down BS

good luck guys!! Meow

I think it should tell you that your prices cannot compete with what people can get online, shipped to their door for free, under MSRP. It's not like every gardener comes to the retail store.

I have several customers that have been buying Sensi Bloom in the 10L size like clockwork for a few years. Big Bud Dry does well too. And their pH down seems to find its way into gardens.

a few yrs ago a friend gave me a modified humboldt nute schedule that had bud candy listed in the line up,
bud candy has magnesium listed as the ingredient on the bottle, $28L
humbodts sea mag made from kelps/sea weeds etc...$18L

some of their products are good I'm sure, as in worth the money
but I'm betting using their entire line is where they get ya in the wallet to buy way overpriced nutes`

bud factorX is a good example, it's active ingredient oligosaccharides/chitosan does wonders
but at $90qt the are getting an insane mark up when you can go and get oligosaccharide in powder
form on ebay for 1/4-1/3rd the cost.

When I first started growing I was using AN and having horrible results! It was bad I killed all of my shit! And ran thru a lot of nutrients! I had to call the Tec support to get my shit goin rite. This dude sent me about $300 worth of their Sensi line! He had me call him weekly and instructed me to do everything exactly how he does it. And the results are unreal! Like what you read in the advertising! He told me the 12in veg, 1 gallon pot, and feeding at 1/2 strength was my problem. Now I veg to 6ft and harvest a 8ft plant in a 10 gallon pot and feed full strength every watering. I have much Love and Respect for them dudes! They held my hand and taught my dumb ass lol now I'm all smiles :)

why cough up the extra cash for AN when you can pay far less for an organic based fertilizer that will produce far better results?

Remo and the crew all have you guys in the palm of their hand!

Never trying AN because #1 its not organic and I get better results than anything I have ever seen grown with AN!

Hey LostTribe what organic fertilizer are you talking about? If I haven't tried it yet I'll check it out. I am using Roots Organics also and they are kinda high on the prices.

Anyone know how Gino went with his pedophile charges in Bulgaria??? Been ripping the asses off of growers for years so I guess it kind of stands that one of these predators would rip the ass off a little girl.

Big Mike's million dollar challenge speaks volumes to me :) I tried a lot of other products some would show up with rocks in it and good luck getting your money back! Some even say on the label there is no guarantee, so it's up to whoever you get your product's from if they refund you or not.

Ya you'd need the brains of a donkey to buy into the million dollar challenge BS. Loads have tried to claim it - no one has heard back. Not that they didn't prove AN was shite in controlled side by sides with other nutrients - more a case of AN being unethical scum bags who talk utter shite and use any trick in the book to con growers out of their hard earnt. In any other industry they would have been sued stupid but lets face it a grower walking into court and suing AN for talking shite wouldn't be a smart move. Kinda sad that people get sucked in by the likes of AN but then I guess there are always going to be stupid consumers who grow sub par and others who quietly go about doing their thing. AN is for newbies ---- period. Kids who know nothing because once they do know something they know better than to get sucked in by the likes of AN. :)

Just paid $12 for a liter of advanced. That's a lot of money hahaha I feel like I been raped good thing I got all this money in my pocket for a cushion. I was looking forward to buying a ph pen and calibration solution and up and down so I could waste 10 mins a day. Oh well guess I could work on trimming all of these buds. Over the last 15 years I tried A lot of different nutes and always go back to Advanced!

Given how watered down their products are, that litre should last you about a week.

I've never used advanced, but I've used some other stuff, Chemical & organic. Once I knew how much I had to use I always have the same results with the same genetics.
Perhaps I should give Advanced a go? But they are much more expensive than other brands and if you do some research you'll find a lot of the ingrediënts they use.

I posted here a while back about being handed off a couple bottles of advanced to do a side by side with GH at no cost to me. Well, personal experience had me placing the AN line back on the shelf never to be used again about 3 weeks in. Plants looked like shit, reacted like shit when watered, etc. Simple 3 part GH blend hands down kills it compared to AN.

Doomsday,

Deep inside I knew it's like you said it is. I've spoken to so much excellent growers that don't even think about using it.
Once every 2 years I start thinking about giving AN a chance bud after some thinking and research I always want to stay with organics, because I find it very easy in the first place.

Haha that's my exact thought process quite often. I actually saw this thread pop up in my subscription after being dead for some length of time, went and pulled down the bottles of AN that are still on my shelves. Low and behold, still 95% full... there's a reason that after years of them being in my room, the product still remains in the bottle.

Maybe I'll mix a huge batch and water my mountainside with it. See what happens.

The money debate. Yes, I know it well.

In the end, if you want to spend the money, you'll find a way. And really, if I was honest with myself, the money that I'm spending on nutes is what I would spend on high quality MMJ.

(Instead, I grow it MYSELF.)

So, really, the argument (for me) is something that will never be resolved.

I use AN because I want to control my own grow, do my own thing, and get results I can count on.

Cue yelling and screaming from those who like to hear themselves talk.

If you spend the equivalent to buying high grade on nutrients. Then plus the work its not eauivalent. Id rather spend the same and have the wotk done for me. Basically what you say makes no sense. Cause ive used advanced nutes and compared to buying i spent very little on nutes and got a big harvest.

Advanced nutes r good. They r also overpriced. Id say i get better for less with other companies...

After using GH nutrients few years I changed to Advanced Nutients.
With AN base nutrients (3part and 2part coco), I like it ten times more than GH.
Not overpriced here in Finland imo. And no need for ph pen&bottles.
Plants (Bodhi Apollo 11 f3) looking great.
Tap water 0.13ec
I feed about max 2ml/l per bottle (Sensi Bloom Coco A&B)
Ec about 1.1-1.3
If I'll try to give more than 3ml/l i get burned tips.

Yea GH is junk. They just got bought out by miracle grow lol. Alot of people are jumping ship. The owner said “For the many years I’ve run GH, I’ve been very careful that I didn’t cross any lines about allowing the identity of my company to be associated with medical cannabis." They will take your money tho.

In my opinion I will probably stay with AN for a great deal of time. The reason it cost what it does is because it's Ph Perfect. Check out all my Albums to see what AN can do. I have tons of threads with a lot of strains all using AN. Even finished Green Haze which took 200 days to flower. Just need to adjust the feeding times to make it work for the genetics. Common sense to me. No other nutrients I have used can produce over 2 gpw's under a single 400 watt HPS covering a 5' x 5' x 7' area. Sorry it just hasn't happened yet for me and my Chemdog keeper can tell a big difference in AN and the others.

Only at 8 weeks and didn't even get to scrog the entire 5' x 5' like I wanted and will easily hit over 2 lb's, probably 2.25 gpw. Per cut dry bud at 9 weeks in weighed 3 grams for a single top. Easily over 100 in their and that's not including under the second screen . My new thread will be in the Coco section for anyone interesting in seeing the end result. Enjoy :thank you:.

GH is definitely not junk - advanced nutrients are not half as good as they are hyped to be. In my opinion. I tried it out have it an honest go and just didn't like it - used sensi a/b bloom and wasn't nearly as clean as GH. That's just my opinion from my experience.

still use their big bud, overdrive, and bud candy.

I wouldn't be using them if I didn't feel like they did something. The bloom booster combo beats GH koolbloom liquid+powder in my experience. The Bud Candy has added a noticeable bag and aroma appeal for many strains in the past.
